REGULAR MEETING OF
TREE CONSERVATION BOARD
November 9, 2005
A regular meeting of the Tree Conservation Board was held on November 9, 2005 in the Adele
Grage Cultural Center. Present were Chairman Maureen Schaughnessy, Stephanie Catania, Jim
McCue, Building Official Don Ford and Recording Secretary Amber Lehman.
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm.
2. Recognition of Visitors
None
3. Aguroval of Minutes for October 26, 2005 Meeting
Board Member McCue, seconded by Board Member Catania made a motion to
approve the minutes from the October 26, 2005 Tree Board Meeting,
motion unanimously carried.
4. New Business
A. Tree Removal Applications
1. 1829 Selva Grand Drive, Lot 18
Ms. Madeline Gray (absent) submitted a tree removal application to construct a
screened area and a pool in her backyard. Ms. Gray is requesting to remove 21
trees from the interior zone and 4 trees from the exterior zone.
Board Member McCue, seconded by Board Member Catania made a motion to waive
any action on this tree removal application for this property due to the board needing
further information. The board is concerned about why the trees south of the garage
are being taken out, as wells as the trees near the proposed deck in the rear of the
yard, specifically one 12 inch palm and one 16 inch elm located east of the new deck .
We would like to the further recommend that the rain trees that are recoimmend for
mitigation not be used due to them being invasive. We further suggest that the
applicant go on the University Florida Agriculture Website and choose other
flowering trees for mitigation, motion unanimously carried.

2. 1.40 16th Street
Ms. Katie Rider (absent) submitted a tree removal application for removal of four
trees in the interior zone and two trees in the exterior zone due to the trees being
non-protective.
Board Member Catania, seconded by Board Member McCue made a motion
to instruct the building official to issue a tree removal permit for four cherry
laurel clumps in the interior zone and two six inch china berry's in the exterior
zone, no mitigation required, motion unanimously carried.
5. Old Business
None.
6. Reports and Announcements
Mr. Ford stated that the tree board will need to conduct a meeting on
November 16, 2005 to review a tree removal application for Lots 333-363
Ahern Street. The next Tree Board Meeting will be held on November 16,
2005 at S:OOpm at the Adele Grage Center.
Mr. Ford also stated that there will be a Board Member Review Meeting on November
17, 2005 to review board applications for the upcoming board openings.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 pm.
