BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH PENSION FUND
GENERAL EMPLOYEES SPECIAL CALLED PENSION BOARD MEETING
September 21, 2006
1. The City of Atlantic Beach General Employee Pension Board meeting was called to order at
1:40 P.M. Those members in attendance were trustees: Tirn Townsend, Harry McNally, Tony
Downing, and Richard Downes. Malcolm Clemons was absent. Also in attendance was Nelson Van
Liere, Plan Administrator.
2. The Plan administrator discussed that Malcolm Clemons was the only employee nominee for the
board member election. Since there was no opposition, Malcolm became the new member of the
Board upon taking the oath on September 12, 2006.
3. A motion was made by Harry McNally and seconded by Richard Downes to unanimously
approved the application for disability retirement of James Wells, a general employee that
recently had a stroke on July 20, 2006. The board discussed the medical information provided and
listened to Tim Townsend, a close friend of the family. Tim Townsend gave an account of his
condition consistent with the medical assessments provided. The medical assessment indicated that
the disability is permanent. The board agreed that all of the eligibility criteria had been met and the
retirement was approved.
