A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, HONORING
MAYOR DONALD M. WOLFSON FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED PUBLIC SERVICE
WHEREAS, Donald Wolfson represented the citizens and voters of Atlantic Beach in a
forthright, honest and objective manner; and
WHEREAS, Donald Wolfson's service to the City of Atlantic Beach spans the
appointments of five mayors and includes memberships on numerous boards and committees which
included the Mayport Village Waterfront Partnership, Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement Board,
Atlantic Beach City Manager Citizen Advisory Committee, Atlantic Beach Stormwater Review
Committee and the Atlantic Beach Recycling Committee; and
WHEREAS, Donald Wolfson successfully lobbied in Tallahassee on behalf of private
property owners to preserve land owner's rights regarding the coastal construction set -back line;
and
WHEREAS, Donald Wolfson chaired the citizen zoning committee which reviewed the
Atlantic Beach zoning ordinance and addressed every zoning requirement in the City of Atlantic
Beach, including density, height and set -backs, and
WHEREAS, Donald Wolfson served on the Community Development Board 14 years and,
as Chairman of the Community Development Board, he participated in the review of the Planned
Unit Developments of Selva Linkside, Fleet Landing, Ocean Walk, Shoppes of North Shore and
Paradise Cove which resulted in businesses and residences conforming to the guidelines of the
zoning codes and helping to establish the community that our citizens desire; and
WHEREAS, on October 4, 2005, Donald Wolfson was elected Mayor by the citizens of
Atlantic Beach which he served with distinction accomplishing many strategic priorities during his
two year term; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes what a valuable and important contribution
Donald Wolfson has made during his tenure as a member of the City Commission, Chairman of the
Community Development Board and as a citizen of Atlantic Beach.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of Atlantic Beach,
Florida hereby extends heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to Donald Wolfson for his continued
success and happiness in the future.
