AGENDA ITEM: Annual Janitorial Services for City Facilities

BACKGROUND: The current contract for janitorial services expires on August 31, 2008.
Over the past year, Miracle Janitorial Services has provided the City with
janitorial services for all city facilities. They have demonstrated excellent
customer service and have done a professional job maintaining the
cleanliness of the facilities. The City has spoken with the President and
CEO of Miracle Janitorial Services regarding a one year extension and
they have agreed to renew the current contract at the same price. Per Bid
No. 0607-10, the City has the option of extending the current contract for
two (2) additional one-year periods and this proposed extension will be the
first.
BUDGET: No additional cost. The current yearly amount paid to Miracle Janitorial
Services is $55,200.00.
RECOMMENDATION: Recommend the City Commission extend the janitorial contract to Miracle
Janitorial Services for one (1) additional year to expire on August 31,
2009.
ATTACHMENT: (1) Letter of Acceptance dated July 9, 2008 from Miracle Janitorial
Services.

As you are aware, the contract with the City of Atlantic Beach for janitorial services expires
August 31, 2008. The City would like to extend the contract for another year at the current
prices, if this is acceptable to your company.
If acceptable, please sign below and return to me before July 21, 2008, so I can prepare a staff
report for the City Commission to accept the extension.
We look forward to recommending that we continue our contract with your company.
