CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD WORKSHOP MINUTES

Chairman Carl Russell called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Secretary Gorman read the roll
call and determined there was a quorum.
Visitor Theodore Martin of 7925 Merrill Rd. was recognized.
The Board reviewed the Minutes of May 13, 2008 and July 8, 2008. Ray Martin motioned to
approve, Richard Ouellette seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
1. New Business
Code Enforcement Officer Alex Sherrer provided an update on the current cases.
a. Case # 300-08 was resolved.
b. Case # 301-08 was resolved.
c. Case # 302-08 was resolved.
Code Enforcement Officer Sherrer advised the Board of revised policy regarding subpoenas. Due
to recent complaints from Respondents, subpoenas will be issued only for dangerous dog cases.
The Code Enforcement Officer will issue Letters of Notice in lieu of subpoenas for all other
cases.

3. Miscellaneous Business
The Code Enforcement Officer advised the Board of recent Commission action to modify the
recently adopted International Code in order to meet City Code. Alex reviewed changes to
Chapters twelve and twenty-four. Discussion ensued and Chairman Russell urged Board
members to read the new Maintenance Code for Atlantic Beach. Code Enforcement Officer
Sherrer took questions from Board Members regarding recent developments along the Mayport
corridor.
Secretary Gorman advised Board Members of recent changes to the Muni Code, another
excellent source on recently approved ordinances. Board Members received supplement # 35 for
their Code Books

The Code Enforcement meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
