Fletcher Mayor/Presiding Officer ATTEST: Ma een King City Clerk MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING OF ATLANTIC BEACH CITY COMMISSION HELD IN COMMISSION CHAMBERS AT 7:15 PM ON MONDAY, MARCH 17, 1997 PRESENT: Lyman T. Fletcher, Mayor John S. Meserve, Commissioner Steven M. Rosenbloom, Commissioner Suzanne Shaughnessy, Commissioner ALSO: James R. Jarboe, City Manager Robert S. Kosoy, Public Works Director James Jacques, Asst. Public Works Director Maureen King, City Clerk The meeting, which was held for the purpose of receiving a status report on the Capital Improvement Projects, was called to order by Mayor Fletcher. Jim Jacques and Bob Kosoy reported on the status of the capital projects listed in Progress Report No. 8, dated March 10, 1997, attached hereto. Following the presentation, Commissioner Rosenbloom inquired whether there were any problems of which the City Commission needed to be aware. The City Manager indicated that there were no significant problems; however, the contractor in the Beach Avenue water and sewer project continues to work hard to control the dust. For this reason, he felt it would be better to undertake the core city project street by street to minimize disruption. Other projects seemed to be on or ahead of schedule. The City Manager also reported staff was continuing to push the engineer on the Buccaneer plant expansion to make sure Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) deadlines are met. Alan Potter pointed out the expansion of the Buccaneer plant was costing considerably more per gallon than the expansion of the Atlantic Beach plant. The City Manager indicated, that because of the importance of meeting DEP deadlines, he would continue to schedule informational meetings such as this one to keep the City Commission informed. Commissioner Rosenbloom suggested that these meetings be held prior to regularly scheduled Commission meetings, if possible. There being no further questions or discussion, the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned at 7:40 PM. Maureen King City Clerk
