Item 2AAGENDA ITEM # 2A FEBRUARY 23, 2009 PRO("I.~MA'TIUN WHEREAS, Evan Patrick Bell, the only child of Richard and Patricia Bell and a lifelong resident of Atlantic Beach, Florida passed away on February 6, 2009 at the age of 13; and WHEREAS, Evan Patrick Bell, during his sixth grade year at Mayport Middle School, was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, achildhood brain tumor; and WHEREAS, In spite of his long term illness, Evan Patrick Bell persevered in attending gifted classes at his school for the next two years; and WHEREAS, Evan Patrick Bell bravely sought to live life like any other child and expected the same treatment as his peers; and WHEREAS, Evan Patrick Bell proved to be an inspiration to his teachers, peers and community; and WHEREAS, Evan Patrick Bell's social conscience, including his avid interest on civic matters -national, state, and local, remained strong throughout his brief but special life; and WHEREAS, Evan Patrick Bell lost his valiant battle with Medulloblastoma, cutting short apromise-filled life; Now therefore, I, John Meserve, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, as a tribute to the memory of Evan Patrick Bell and the difference he made in the city he was proud to call home, do hereby proclaim March 10, 2009 to be EVAN PATRICK BELL DAY IN TNESS WHEREOF I have set my hand and caused the official seal of the City of Atl t ach to be affixed this 9`h Day of February 2009.
