Resolution No. 09-07 vRESOLUTION NO: 09-07 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, NAMING THE CITY'S NEWEST ADDITION OF PARK AND CONSERVATION LANDS ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE CITY AND ADJACENT TO THE INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY AS THE RIVER BRANCH PRESERVE WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach has recently acquired approximately 350 acres of marsh and uplands on the west side of the City, north of Atlantic Boulevard, and directly east of the Intracoastal Waterway; and WHEREAS, the acquisition ensures that the property will be protected from development and that the public will have access to the waterways on the west side of Atlantic Beach for low impact recreational uses in the future; and WHEREAS, the acquisition of this property was made possible through a major donation from the River Branch Foundation which shares the City's desire for future preservation and public access to the property. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach that the property formerly known as the Buckman-Pritchard Estate located on the west side of Atlantic Beach, north of Atlantic Boulevard and east of the Intracoastal Waterway shall be named the River Branch Preserve.
