AGENDA ITEM: Extension of Annual Contract for Meter Testing and Repair

BACKGROUND: On May 12, 2008 the City Commission awarded the bid for the City's annual
contract for Meter Testing and Repair to United Water Solutions, Inc.
The City has spoken to United Water Solutions regarding an extension of their current contract for one
year at the current rates and they have agreed. As per Bid No. 0708-09: "The City reserves the right to
renew the contract for two additional one-year periods pending a mutual agreement between the City
and the vendor, and a review of the contract performance by vendor for the previous year."
The vendor has agreed to renew his contract, and staff has been pleased with the performance of this
contractor.
BUDGET: These services are used on an annual or as-needed basis, and meter testing and repair is
complete for the current fiscal year. Funding for FY10 will be requested in the Water Fund in the
amount of $10,000 under account number 400-5504-533-3400.
RECOMMENDATION: Extend the Meter Testing and Repair contract for one additional year to
United Water Solutions, Inc. at the contract prices.
ATTACHMENTS: 1. Letter of agreement to extend contract from United Water Services.
