Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, June 23, 2009
Adele Grage Community Center
7:00 p.m.
Present: Lori Gaglione (chair), Lynne Roskein, Cris Garrard, Jolyn Johnson, Ingrid McCawley, JeJJ'
Wight, Laurie Melancon. Liaison: Timmy Johnson. Recording: Karen Kempf. Absent: Mark Howard.
1. Call to order -Lori called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.
2. Meeting Minutes May 26, 2009 -two corrections were noted in the minutes (Lynne with an g and
removing "that"). Ingrid moved and Lynr~seconded that the minutes be accepted as written with
the two corrections. The committee unanimously accepted the minutes with corrections.
3. Ongoing Business
a. Events, Updates, Reports
i. UNF Internship for the Recreation & Special Events Department for January 2010.
Jeff is optimistic about applying for a Public Health program intern from UNF. Jeff
would supervise the intern for the 30-40 hour week for 14 weeks. An intern could
plan physical fitness programs and work at events. An intern might also do
research. Tim will check with the City [George Foster, Human Resources)
regarding requirements and insurance before the next meeting. Jeff will help
write the job description with Tim; and Jeff will fill out the UNF internship
application. Tim believes that the internship application will need to go to the City
Commission for approval. CARAC members are to bring project ideas for an
internship to the next meeting.
4. Adjournment
a. Next CARAC meeting is J~ 28. Laurie Melancon's term expires in June; she was thanked
for her service to the City and Committee. A new member of the CARAC, Meade Coplan
will attend the July meeting.
With no fu~ther busin~, the meeting was adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
