AGENDA ITEM: Commission Request to Investigate Scooter Parking at Beach
Accesses

BACKGROUND:
Commissioner Parsons requested Staff investigate the possibility of adding dedicated
scooter parking at some of the beach accesses. Staff has inspected the accesses and has
identified four (4) locations where this could be done without eliminating any existing
vehicle parking spots.
1. 7th Street on the North side
2. 10th Street on the Northeast side
3. 18th Street east of the handicap parking spot
4. 19th Street on the South side
Each of these spots would need to be striped accordingly and signs posted indicating
"Scooter/Motorcycle Parking Only". Adding these spots would not pose any Public
Safety concerns.
BUDGET: The expense for the striping and signage would be approximately $300 not
including manpower costs.
RECOMMENDATIONS: None. For Commission review/discussion only.
