A regular meeting of the City of Atlantic Beach Tree Conservative Beard was
convened at 7:BU pm on Wednesday May 13, ~86~ at the Adele gage Cultural
Center, located at 716 ocean Boulevard in Atlantic Beach. !n attendance were
Beard member Jim McCue, Brea Paul, Frank Redmond, Maureen Shaughnessy,
and Principal PlannerfStaff Lraisvrr Erika Fiall. Beard member Stephanie Catania
was excused f rem the meeting, and the position of Recording Secretary remained
vacant.

~. ATTENDANCE ~ RECOGNITION OF VISITORS
' Ms. Nall said that she had received a phone call from Stephanie Catania on Tuesday, May
1~t", and that Ms. Catania said she uvould be absent from the meeting because she vuas out
of town due to a death in the family. Ms. Shaughnessy excused the absence. There were
no visitors.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
^ Chair Shaughnessy called for a motion to approve the minutes from the February 1Z~"
regular meeting.

Moved bylim McCue, seconded by Frank Redmond and approved by unanimvusvote.

6. REPORTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
^ fps. Hall reported that she has nova processed five ~~}tree removal permits under the new
ordinance. However, she has no indication of any permits that will require Board review in
the near future.
^ Additionally, Ms. Hall continues tv meet with residents tv discuss various tree issues, from
planning their development/redevelopment around existing trees to advising them on
choosing proper trees for their property. Ms Hall also reminded the Board that whenever
there is a complaint of violation of Chapter 26 provisions, she will investigate the matter,
and upon finding the alleged violation to be factual, will turn her findings over to the Code
Enforcement ~ff`rcer for action by the Code Enforcement Board. However, many cases do
not yield a violation of Chapter 23. Rather, Ms. Hall said that her office continues tv get a
large volume of calls regarding tree issues that are typically within the realm of "neighbor
law". In such cases where the City has no standing, Ms. Hall typically does preliminary
research and then directs residents to other resources or potential avenues of resolution.
