08-02-71 v MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY COMMISSION HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON MONDAY, AUGUST 2, 1971 AT 7:30 P. M. Present: William S. Howell, Mayor-Commissioner Arthur J. Longo M. F. Marvin R. R. Rosborough L. W. Minton, Jr. , Commissioners and R. C. Vogel, City Manager Oliver Ball, City Attorney Adele S . Grage, City Clerk The meeting was called pursuant to written notice dated July 29, 1971. Mayor Howell called the meeting to order and explained the purpose is to consider passage of a Resolution to obtain Federal participation in our Sewer Project under Public Law #660. We passed such a Resolution in 1968 but the government wants a current Resolution. Following discussion Mr. Longo moved passage of Resolution #71-16, seconded by Mr. Marvin and carried. Copy of said Resolution is attached hereto and made a part hereof. Approval was requested for approval for payment of Mr. George Carrison' s bill covering services rendered as our Fiscal Agent on Sewer Bonds, ,in amount of $5, 050.00. Mr. Longo moved approval of payment of Mr. Carrison' s bill in amount of $5,050.00 be paid from Account #830, seconded by Mr. Marvin and carried. The payment to be made when bonds are delivered to purchaser and payment for same received by us. There being no further business, Mayor Howell declared the meeting adjourned. 40 /1 S. Grage City Clerk )79,1 CITY OF... • • RESOLUTION NO. 71-16 WHEREAS, it is apparent that the Sewage Disposal System of the City of Atlantic Beach is inadequate under current rules and regulations of Florida Air and Water Control Commission, and WHEREAS, it is apparent that the population of the City of Atlantic Beach has increased greatly beyond previous growth estimates, and WHEREAS, the Consulting Engineer of the City of Atlantic Beach has submitted a report strongly urging need of additional sewage treatment facilities, and WHEREAS, the City Commission has expressed the desire to upgrade and enlarge the sewage facilities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS : 1. That the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, with all deliberate speed diligently make application for and perform all steps necessary to secure Federal Matching Funds under Public Law 660 for its financial assistance in the ungrading and expansion of the Sewage Treatment System. 2 . That the officers designated to represent the City of Atlantic Beach in all matters pertaining to the Sewage Treatment facilities are as follows: Robert C. Vogel, City Manager Adele S .
