09-09-71 v MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY COMMISSION HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1971 AT 7:00 P. M. Present: William S. Howell, Mayor-Commissioner Arthur J. Longo L. W. Minton, Jr. Ni. F. Marvin R. R. Rosborough, Commissioners and R. C. Vogel, City Manager Oliver Ball, City Attorney Adele S. Grage, City Clerk The meeting was called pursuant to notice delivered on September 8, 1971 for purpose of considering the Sewer Plant bid and awarding contract. Mr. Howell called the meeting to order. Mayor Howell advised that we have received permit to build the additional sewer facilities and certification from Tallahassee to Atlanta, but so far we have not been put on the priority list. We received today a teletype message from Atlanta, copy of which is attached hereto, which means that we are basically eligible to be confirmed provided the funds do not give out before we are reached. We have done all we can do, we have furnished all information requested, with copies and forms, and he feels we should award the contract. Our extended time is up this weekend. Following discussion Mr. Rosborough moved that we proceed and award the contract to Savage & Brandt on basis of bids received in total amount of $343, 000.00, noting the fact that we can walk without Federal Government if we need to, and that the proper officials be authorized to sign the contract for the City. The motion was seconded by Mr. Longo and carried. Savage and Brandt officials were present at this meeting. Mayor Howell declared the meeting adjourned. / 1l 10,40.011A ' . owell Attest: Mayor-Commissioner /, 4 I - V , Adele S. Grage City Clerk
