Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, September 22, 2009
Adele Grage Community Center
7:00 p.m.
Present: Lori Gaglione (chair), Meade Coplan, Mark Howard, Ingrid McCawley, Lynne Roskein, JeJJ'Wight
Liaison: Timmy Johnson. Recording: Karen Kempf.
Absent: Cris Garrard, Jolyn Johnson and Teen Council Representative.
1. Lori called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
2. The committee reviewed the July 2009 meeting minutes. Lynne moved that the minutes be
accepted with one clarification to add Art Walk receptions atAdele Grage. Ingrid seconded the
motion and the minutes were approved as corrected.
3. Ongoing Business
a. Budget Update -Tim related that the City Commission put outside agency monies back
into the budget. The public hearing will be at the next commission meeting.
b. Songwriters' Concert & Acoustic Nights -Currently Mike Shakelford has not reported
attendance at the events. .
c. Artisan Faire -Lynne reported that she has 11 artists confirmed for the event November 19.
She is asking artists in lieu of admission fee to bring one bottle each of red and white wine for
the wine tasting. Ingrid offered to serve wine at the event. Kathy Frosio has new artwork of the
Adele Grage for publicity which Karen will scan and complete a flyer for the event. The
committee will receive a digital copy to help publicize the Faire. Advertising in the local
papers will come out Wednesday and Thursday before the event.
d. UNF intern -Jeff reported that the public health intern is for 20 hours a week Jeff will
supervise the intern but she or he will be working with Tim and Jolyn as well. Tim
reported that insurance won't be an issue and that the intern may need to be reimbursed
for travel.
e. Holiday Sing-along -Ingrid informed the committee that she has a professional DJ for the
December event and that will make the music more enjoyable.
f. Teen Council -Tim reported that Dawson will not be continuing as president and that
they do not have a new volunteer for president of Teen Council. Also, the adult liaison is
no longer available to work with the teens for the coming year.
4. New Business
a. Volunteer Tracking -Tim asked the committee to help the department to help track
volunteers and hours worked on behalf of the city. For events, if they can help track their
own hours, plus the number of volunteers and number of hours they work Tim has a
form that can be used to help track this information.
5. Other Agenda Items/Announcements
a. Tim reminded the committee about the volunteer reception for committees on September
30~, at Adele Grage.
b. Mark mentioned that another cooking class will be held at the Beaches Diner, possible in
October and that he would let the committee know the date.
6. Adjournment -With no further business, Lori asked to adjourn the meeting. Lynne moved and
