MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY
COMMISSION HELD ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 6, 1970, AT 6:00 P. M.
Present: William S . Howell, Mayor-Commissioner
Arthur J. Longo
L. W. Minton, Jr. , Commissioners
and
R. C . Vogel, City Manager
Oliver Ball, City Attorney
Adele S. Grage, City Clerk
Absent: Preben Johansen
R. R. Rosborough, Commissioners
The special meeting was called pursuant to notice delivered on
August 4, 1970.
Mayor Howell called the meeting to order.
Mr. Vogel advised our Engineer, Walter J. Parks, Jr. , has
prepared Change Order No. 1 to the Water Reservoir contract.
The Change Order covers repairs to the old reservoir. It was
impossible until this time to get specifications and make
•
Change Order on needed repairs as could not empty the old
reservoir for inspection until the new one was finished. The
cost of this work as indicated by Contractor will be $6;914. 00
net, and engineering fee of $298.70. The matter was discussed
following which Mr. Longo moved approval of change order No. 1
and engineer' s fee as stated, seconded by Mr. Minton and
carried.
Resolution No. 70-20 appointing Bobby D. Brown as member of
Board of Assessment Review for three years and confirming
T. E. Doss, Jr. for two years and Mrs . Mildred Baker for one
year was presented and read in full . Mr. Longo moved passage
of said Resolution, seconded by Mr. Minton and carried. Copy
of Resolution No. 70-20 is attached hereto and made a part
hereof.
Mrs. Grage advised that the 1970 County Tax Roll has been
received and our preliminary 1970 roll completed, and requested
approval to have the roll open for inspection through August
31, 1970. Mr. Longo moved that approval be granted as requested,
seconded by Mr. Minton and carried.
There being no further business, Mayor Howell declared the
meeting adjourned. 'I

RESOLUTION NO. 70-20
WHEREAS , Section 111 of the Charter of the City of
Atlantic Beach provides for the appointment of a
Board of Assessment Review, and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following
be appointed to the Board of Assessment Review for
the period as listed:
Bobby D. Brown 3 years
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the term of the remain-
ing members be hereby confirmed as follows:
T. E. Doss, Jr. 2 years
Mrs. Mildred Baker 1 year
Passed by the City Commission on August 6, 1970.
