SUBJECT: City Manage s Report
Funds received from MarshFest 09; The City received a check in the amount of $1,000 from the Marsh
Preservation Society resulting from the MarshFest event on November 14, 2009. The funds were donated
with the request that they be used "in conjunction with the master planning of amenities for the River
Branch Preserve."
Building Code Effectiveness Grading Schedule; The Insurance Services Office (ISO) has notified
Atlantic Beach that they recently surveyed the City's Building Department which resulted in a
classification of 3 for one and two-family residential properties and 3 for commercial and industrial
properties in Atlantic Beach. The ISO is an insurer-supported organization whose primary mission is to
provide underwriting and rating information to insurers. The organization also provides ratings for cities
of their fire departments and supporting water systems. This rating of the Building Department is
considered very good and will result in savings of insurance costs for owners of buildings constructed in
2009 and forward. A complete copy of the "Building Code Enforcement Evaluation Report" dated 10-29-
09 is available at City Hall.
