AGENDA ITEM: JEA Electric Line Easement for New We112R

BACKGROUND: Additional JEA electrical facilities will be needed to power the new We112R
that is currently under construction. Additional power poles and electrical lines will be installed at the
Public Works yard to provide power to the new well. These improvements were included as part of
the bid package for the project.
The City will need to grant a utility easement to JEA so they will have access to provide installation
and future maintenance of these electric utilities.
BUDGET: No budget impact.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the JEA Electric Line Easement and authorize the City
Manager to sign the easement.

Whereas, the undersigned as owners of the land hereinafterdescribed (are willing for) {have requested)
the JEA to construct and maintain an electric power line and/or transformer to furnish electric service on
or across said land, which the JEA is willing to do, provided it be granted this easement far such purpose;
therefore,
In consideration of the premises and the construction and maintenance of said electric power line and/or
transformer at the expense of the JEA, the undersigned, as owners, do hereby grant unto the JEA,
Jacksonville, Florida, an unobstructed easement to construct, operate and main#ain an electric power line
upon, aver, under and across the following described land, situated in.
Duval County, Florida:

HEREOF
Together with the right to place such dawn-guys and other construction features as are necessary to the
erection and maintenance of such line, and maintenance of such lute and/or transformer, and the further
right, within ten feet on each side of the center line of said electric power fine as constructed, to trim and
cut trees and undergrowth, and to have ingress and egress for the purpose of construction, maintaining
and operating said electric power line and/or transformer.
In consideration of the execution of this easement and the construction of said line, the undersigned
further agree that in no event will they call on the JEA to move such facilities, unless it is determined
jointly by the grantors and the grantee that such moving is necessary on account of future buildings,
roadways, or safety requirements requested by the Owner or Owners. In such cases the JEA reserves
the right to determine, from the standpoint of conditions disclosed at the time, whether the expense
involved in moving or relocating such facilities shall be at the JEA expense ar at the expense of the
Owner or Owners.
Said electric power line andlor transformer may be tapped or extended to serve adjacent properties,
when it is in the best interests of the JEA to do so. Care shall be used to insure that any connections to
this line steal! not intertere with buildings ar driveways of the grantors. Such taps or extensions will carry
the same rights and privileges as the original easements.
