Call to Order: The meeting began at 6:00 PM.
Introduction: David Thompson opened the meeting and introduced City Commissioner Daugherty,
City staff members, and staff from Bowen Civil Engineering. The purpose of the
meeting was identified as obtaining public input on the Tideviews Preserve project.
Attendees were asked to complete blue City of Atlantic Beach forms.
The meeting was turned over to Randy Downing with Bowen Engineering. Randy
utilized aerial photographs and discussed the project location. He also provided a
number of drawings and surveys to provide more detailed information of the site.
Over the course of the meeting, attendees discussed a variety of subjects including:
Possible Designs/Routes of boardwalks and docks
Construction Materials
Parking and transportation issues
Motorized vessels
Fishing
Covering/Shelter
Kayak/Canoe Launch features/Floating Dock
Special events
Ecotourism
Soundings/Depths/Mean Low Tide Levels
Permits and Grant Funding
At the conclusion, Randy Downing said that he would take the input derived from the
meeting, and he would design the project with these ideas in mind. He would then
provide the design to City staff, and then to the City Commission for approval.
Adjournment: The meeting ended at 7:10 PM.
