AGENDA ITEM: Presentation of Plan for Tideviews Preserve

BACKGROUND:
The City Commission authorized Bowen Civil Engineering (BCE) to proceed with the
design and permitting of a boardwalk extension and kayak launch facility at the
Tideviews Preserve. On Thursday, April 22, 2010, Randy Downing with BCE held a
meeting to take public comments and input into the design of the project.
At the May 24, 2010 City Commission meeting, Mr. Downing will be presenting a
conceptual design for the Tideviews Preserve for City Commission review and approval.
With Commission approval on the design, Mr. Downing will apply for permits necessary
for Florida Inland Navigation District funding for this project.
BUDGET: The City Commission already approved a contract with BCE for design and
permitting of the project. The approval of the conceptual design will not obligate any
additional funding at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS: To review the proposed conceptual design, to provide
input/suggestions if so desired, and to approve the conceptual design.
