Permit Folder 81 Beach Ave 1.3.2 All cutting and patching of existing and/or new building materials required for the installation of the mechanical work, shall be done under this section. No structural members shall be disturbed without the Architect's prior approval. All patching shall be done in a neat and workmanlike manner to match adjoining surfaces and finishes by mechanics of the particular trades involved. 1.4 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS 1.4.1 All materials shall be new and standard catalog products of a reputable manufacturer. One manufacturer's name and model is specified to establish type, quality and capacities. Equivalent equipment of the other manufacturers may be submitted for approval within 30 days after date of Notice to Proceed. Shop drawings will be required for approval for all equipment. 1.5 TEST REPORT 1.5.1 At the completion of the work, systems and equipment shall be balances to give the required quantities as shown on the plans. All adjustments required to obtain capacities as shown shall be made. 1.6. INSTRUCTIONS AND INSTRUCTION BOOKLETS 1.6.1 The Contractor shall instruct the Owner's representative in operating and maintaining systems including procedures for starting, stopping, and seasonal changeover; location and function of all switches and controls; and regular maintenance procedures. Obtain and turn over to the Architect a signed statement from the Owner's representative that such instruction has been completed. Submit to the Architect for approval three (3) bound sets of parts list applicable to all equipment; manufacturer's manuals, performance data, curves; and shop drawings as approved for items of equipment. 1.7 GUARANTEE 1.7.1 All equipment and systems specified in these sections of the specifications shall be placed in successful operation. All equipment and systems furnished shall be guaranteed for a period of one year from the date of final acceptance against defective materials, installation, or workmanship. Air conditioning refrigeration compressors shall have a 5 year warranty. -13- Upon receipt of notice from the Architect of failure or malfunction of any part of the guaranteed equipment or systems during the guarantee period, the affected part or parts shall be replaced with new parts or repaired promptly at no additional cost to the Owner. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 DUCTWORK 2.1.1 Air supply and return ductwork shall be a fiberglass duct system composed of 1" thick fibrous glass board, with a glass fabric reinforced embossed aluminum surface. The product shall have Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., Commercial Air Duct approval and each board shall bear this Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. label. Fabrication and installation shall be in strict accordance with manufacturer's published recommendations. 2.1.2 Duct may be either rectangular or equivalent sized round metal pipe externally wrapped with 1-1/2" fiberglass foil back insulation. 2.2 DUCTWORK ACCESSORIES 2.2.1 All square elbows in fan discharge ductwork shall have turning vanes as manufactured by Krueger: Titus: Carnes. 2.2.2 Duct extractor dampers shall be provided at all "Bull-head" take-offs from supply duct, and shall be Titus AG-45 with operator: Krueger; Carnes. When damper is accessible through grille, a No. 1 operator shall be furnished. A locking quadrant shall be used where duct is exposed or accessible. Spin-collar with extractor damper shall be used at round take=off from main duct. 2.2.3 Duct splitter dampers shall be constructed in accordance with SMACNA recommendations of 22 gauge galvanized sheet iron with leading edge hemmed. 2.2.4 Manual dampers shall be of the opposed blade type. Blades shall not exceed 10" in width of 16 gauge steel. All dampers shall be horizontal axis type with brass pin running in steel bearings. All dampers shall be built with solid stops, continuous on all four sides. Dampers shall have felted edges, with ends of blade and stops also felted. Manual dampers shall have extended rod and locking quadrant for positioning. 2.2.5 Fan and air unit connections to ducts shall have flexible connection , minimum of 4" long with 1" slack, with galvanized fastening strip. -14- 2.2.6 All grilles, registers and diffusers shall be aluminum. Plaster frames shall be furnished for all grilles, registers, and diffusers installed in plaster walls or ceilings. Krueger; Titus; Carnes. Provide off-white baked on enamel finish. 2.3 PIPING 2.3.1 Drain piping shall be run from the drain pan of the air handling unit with a "P" trap. Piping shall be Schedule 40 PVC pipe. Provide and pipe drain to terminate 611. above ground. 2.3.2 Refrigerant piping shall be type ACR copper tubing. Heat pump manufacturer shall verify that piping is properly sized for most efficient operation of his equipment. 2.3.3 Provide 3/4" Armorflex vapor barrier insulation and drain pipe and suction/discharge refrigerant line. 2.4 SPLIT SYSTEM HEAT PUMPS 2.4.1 Condensing Unit: 2.4.1.1 Cabinet shall be corrosion-resistant, 20 gauge zinc coated steel, finished with duracron baked enamel. Design of the cabinet shall allow rapid access to all components and connection. Provide seacoast construction in cabinet. 2.4.1.2 Compressor shall be resiliently mounted to prevent vibration transmission, and placed in a separate compartment for sound isolation. Compressor shall have crankcase heaters or equivalent protection, and motors shall be equipped with overheat-overload protection in the windings, and pressure relief valves. 1.4.1.3 Coil tubes shall be mechanically expanded, firmly bonding the tube to the shoulder of each fin. Coils shall be finished with corrosion-resistant coating and protected with heavy-duty grille. 1.4.1.4 Fan and motor shall be propeller type, direct-driven by a PSC fan motor, which is thermally protected against over-current and high temperature damage. Provide cover over top of motor for weather protection. Fan shall be aluminum construction. The air shall be directed ,AOW through the venturi air opening on top of the unit cabinet, upwards, through a heavy duty fan guard. "`15 1.4.1.5 Refrigerant circuit shall include a reversing valve, accumulator, high pressure safety control, and low pressure safety control/loss of charge protector. 1.4.1.6 Electric controls: Internally wired controls shall include the 5 minute compressor anti—short cycle timer, demand defrost system which defrosts automatically when static pressure probes and temperature sensor detect• frost, heat relay, fan relay and the compressor motor contactors. All inductive motor loads to have thermal protection, auto—reset. The 24 volt control circuit shall include a transformer and low voltage terminal board for external thermostat control hook-up. Control shall be mounted in a separate compartment. 2.4.2 Air handling unit: 2.4.2.1 The indoor air handler cabinet shall be constructed of corrosion—resistant, heavy gauge galvanized steel with large removable service panels. The interior of the cabinet shall be thermally insulated with 1—inch-thick, 1-1/2 pound density glass fiber insulation. 2.4.2.2 Coil: The indoor coil shall be aluminum plate—finned formed on multiple rows of tubing arranged in a staggered tube configuration. The tubes shall be mechanically expanded, firmly bonding the tube to the shoulder of each fin. 2.4.2.3 Indoor blower and motor shall be a forward—curved, statically and dynamically balanced centrifugal blower. the blower shell is mounted on a solid steel shaft supported by sealed ball bearings. 2.4.2.4 Refrigerant circuit: The factory installed refrigerant piping shall include the necessary components for each refrigerant circuit. 2.4.2.5 Filters: Units shall be shipped with 1—inch—thick permanent washable filters mounted in the factory installed flat filter rack on the return air opening. —16— 2.4.2.6 Electric heaters: Factory—assembled stages as specified, and complete with contactors, fan interlock, automatic and manual high limit switches, and heating elements encased in an insulated cabinet with attached control box. Include an airflow pressure switch. 2.4.2.7 Unit shall be mounted on vibration isolators. 2.4.2.8 Room thermostat to provide staged heating or cooling control with continuous or cycling fan operation, plus availability to operate electric heat without heat pump. Also, provide discharge thermostat to energize electric heater during defrost cycle, it supplemental heat is necessary. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION 3.1.1 General: Except as otherwise indicated, install air cooled equipment, including components and controls required for operation, in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, and with recognized industry practices, to ensure that equipment complies with requirements and serves intended purposes. 3.1.2 Locate equipment in general position indicated in relation to other work. Position equipment with sufficient clearance for normal service and maintenance, including clearance for component replacement. 3.1.3 Install equipment on vibration isolation mounts in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. 3.1.4 Paint damaged and abraded factory finish with touch—up paint matching factory finish. 3.1.5 Grounding: Provide positive ground for equipment and components. 3.1.6 Wiring: Coordinate to insure responsibility for all power, interlock, and control wiring required for mechanical sections. i17— 14001, 3.1.7 Notice shall be given to the Architect and the Local Authority in writing before any tests are made and the tests are not to be concluded, or the pipes covered, until examined by the Local Authority, or his authorized deputy and the Architect. In case of defects being found, they shall be made good to the satisfaction of the Architect and the work retested without delay. Certificate of Inspection shall be submitted for each Local Authority for each required inspection. 3.1.8 Cleaning and protection of equipment: Contractor shall protect the units from damage from the time of their receipt until final acceptance and shall thoroughly clean the equipment of all dirt and construction debris prior to requesting final inspection. Casing panel, access doors, gaskets, coils and like items which become damaged during the course of construction shall be repaired to "as new" condition or shall be replaced with new material or equipment components. —18- (16) ELECTRICAL WORK (a) Furnish and install all labor, material, lamps, etc., required for installing and completing all electrical work shown on the drawings and/or listed below, in accordance with local codes, the National Electrical Code, the rules of the National Board of Fire Underwriters and good practice for the trade. (b) All panelboards shall be circuit breaker type as manufactured by Square D. Westinghouse, Trumbull or ,equal; shall be recessed type. Electrician to upgrade existing panel to accommodate the additional load from alterations and additions. (c) Wire shall not be smaller than No. 12, material shall be copper. (d) All wiring, conduit and devices shall be concealed and flush in all finished areas. (e) This Subcontractor shall leave the entire electrical system in proper working order, and shall, without additional cost to the Owner, replace any work or material which prove defective within one year after acceptance of the building by the Owner. GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S WORK In addition to the Contractor's work of coordinating the various crafts and Subcontractors, he shall supply all labor and materials and perform all services for the following items: (a) Allowances: General Contractor shall include all allowances that may be specified under the various headings. If the allowance is exceeded, the Owner will be obligated for the difference; if the allowance is not used in its entirety, the Owner will be entitled to a credit of the difference. (b) Permits: General Contractor shall arrange for, provide and pay for all permits, licenses, etc. , that may be required. (c) Electricity: Electricity shall be obtained from existing service. (d) Water: Water shall be obtained from existing water supply. (e) Protection: General Contractor shall be responsible for the protection of all new work against damage. (f) Cleaning up: General Contractor shall keep the building and the premises reasonably free from refuse and waste materials during the progress of the work. He shall be held responsible for dirt and debris left by his Subcontractors and shall leave the building and the property entirely clean and in perfect condition, including final window washing, at the completion of the work. =1- (g) Owner will supply the General Contractor with six (6) sets of plans and specifications. (j) EXECUTION, CORRELATION, AND INTERPRETATIONS: (1) Should any discrepancy exist between drawings, specifications or should any error or omission exist which MOW Contractor might reasonably be expected to detect, the same shall be brought to the attention of the Architect before proceeding with work involved. (2) Contractor shall check figured dimensions, following same in preference to scaled dimensions. Computed dimensions shall have precedence over scaled dimensions; large scale drawings over small scale drawings. Architectural Drawings shall take precedence over mechanical drawings for dimensions. (3) In the event that there is ambiguity, conflict or disagreement relating to items or arrangements to be furnished under the Contract Documents, the Architect will determine which takes precedence. It is understood that the Contractor shall furnish items or arrangements of greater quantity, better quality, or higher cost as conclusively determined by Architect. (k) Paragraph 4.18.1 of the General Conditions is amended by addition of the following provisions: The parties agree that the Contractor's liability to the Owner under this provision shall not exceed $1,000,000. This provision is made in compliance with Section 725.06 Florida Statutes. —2— (1) The Contractor shall discharge by bonding or otherwise, any mechanic's or materialmen's lien or any attachment conditional bill of sale, chattel mortgage, security agreement or other encumbrance under the law of the State of Florida or otherwise by any person or persons whomsoever arising from any work done or materials furnished under this Agreement and filed or recorded against the construction site premises of the Owner. If any such lien shall be filed against the construction site premises or the Project, which lien is not released, satisfied or discharged by payment, deposit, bonding or otherwise within ten (10) days from the date Owner notifies Contractor of the existence thereof , the Owner may in addition to all other rights and remedies arising as a result of the filing of such lien, cause the same to be removed or discharged by payment bonding or otherwise the entire cost incurred by the Owner and so doing shall be a credit against any sums then or thereafter due to Contractor under this Agreement. (m) Article 11 of the General Conditions shall be supplemented as follows: (1) Certificates of insurance shall indicate the name of the company or companies carrying the specified coverage, the effective and expiration dates of the policies, and the provision that policies may not be materially changed, reduced in coverage or cancelled before the expiration date thereof, unless and until the issuing company mails thirty (30) days written notice by registered mail to the Owner. Prior to the commencement of work, the Contractor shall furnish the certificates to the Owner and the Architect. If the Contractor does not furnish, maintain or renew the certificates, throughout the period of his work, the Owner may at his option take out the necessary insurance and deduct the price thereof from the price stipulated in the Contract between the parties. No payment shall be made to the Contractor pursuant to the Contract Documents until a proper insurance certificate which conforms to the above--mentioned requirements is furnished to the Owner. (2) Contractors and Sub—contractors shall carry: (2.1) Workmen's Compensation as required by law with a least $100,000 employer's liability. (2.2) Contractor's Liability Insurance and the Contractor's Contingent Liability Insurance required in the amount of $100,000 combined single limits bodily injury and property damage on an occurrence basis, including personal injury, broad form liability endorsement, contractual and completed operation with comprehensive general liability endorsement. —3— (2.3) Comprehensive Automobile Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance, including coverage on owned, hired and non-=owned automobiles and vehicles used by the Contractor on or in connection with the work, shall have limits of not less than $100,000 combined single limit bodily injury and property damage per occurrence. (n) Termite Protection: General Contractor shall arrange for, provide and pay for treatment and insulation against subterranean termites under all concrete slabs and around the exterior foundation perimeter of the building; pest control service shall be reputable, recognized company acceptable to the Owner; termite treatment shall be bonded in writing and be guaranteed for a minimum of one (1) year from date of treatment. (o) Alternates: (1) Additive Alternate #1. Remove existing asphalt shingle roofing and provide new roofing as specified on existing portion of the house. (1) GENERAL: The building will not be occupied by the Owner during the work. Contractor shall install temporary dust walls and security walls or lock-off doors as required to isolate the work from the remaining portions of the house. (2) SITE WORK (a) Contractor shall repair all damages to site as a result of the work. (3) CONCRETE (a) Mix: 1 part Portland Cement, 2 parts sand, and 4 parts coarse aggregate; or transit mix having minimum compressive strength of 2,500 p.s.i. at 28 days. (b) Furnish and install all plain and reinforced concrete, anchor bolts, ties, reinforcing bars, reinforcing mesh and accessories shown and/or called for or required for the proper execution of the work. (4) MASONRY (a) Furnish and install all labor, masonry and material required for the proper completion of all masonry work shown on the drawings and/or required for the proper completion of the building. - 4_ (b) Materials: (1) Concrete Masonry Units: Pre-shrunk, moisture controlled load-bearing units. (2) Face Brick: Match sizes/texture of existing. (3) Mortar: Mixed by volume as follows: One (1) part Portland Cement, one—fourth (1/4) part hydrated lime, not less than 2-1/4 and not more than 3 times the sum of the volumes above of damp loose sand. Clean all exposed exterior and interior masonry surfaces with stiff fiber brush, detergent and water. (5) MISCELLANEOUS METALS (a) Furnish and install all miscellaneous steel, iron, and metal work required for the proper execution of the work. (b) Dissimilar Materials: Whenever in the work, dissimilar metals come in contact, coat contact surfaces of each with Bituminous paint. (c) Galvanizing: All steel sections, plates, anchors, and bolted connections to be hot dipped galvanized. Field welds to be coated with CZ11 zinc rich coating. (d) All materials shall be new, unused and perfect stock: free from rust, millscale and imperfections. (b) CARPENTRY (a) Furnish and install all lumber, plywood, nails, clips spikes, bolts, nuts, washers, wood screws, connectors, anchors, angles, joisthangers, etc., as may be required for the proper execution of the work in accordance with the Contract Documents. (b) Framing Lumber: #2 MG or KD or better Southern Yellow Pine or #2 Douglas Fir, or Larch, FB = 1350 p.s.i. , moisture content not to exceed 19%. Use rough sawn western cedar structural select for all beams and columns exposed to view. (c) Plywood: CC or CD Grade Fir or Yellow Pine Plywood, thickness as noted or indicated on the drawings. —5— (d) Treated Lumber: Required for all rough carpentry items to remain in contact with ground, concrete masonry or roofing. Treat with Wolmanized Salts, or Pentachlorophenol, applied at lumber yard prior to delivery in accordance with current recommendations of AWPA. (e) Stud Framing: Exterior walls and bearing partition, 2 x 6 and 2 x 4, spaced 16" o.c., crippled once in height; all other partitions 2 x 4 studs also to be 16" o.c. , double studs at each side of openings. Provide two 2 x 6 headers on edge minimum at all openings. (f) Solid Timber Floor Decking: At all balconies and decks, use nominal 2" x 6" wide S.Y.P. or Douglas Fir. Pressure treated as shown on drawings. Commercial grade. Lay in with 1/4" air space between planks. (g) Exterior Trim: Western Red Cedar, C Grade and better. (h) Exterior Soffits: 3/8" Western Red Cedar exterior plywood, rough sawn; provide 4" continuous vent opening backed with grey fiberglass screen cloth. (i) Interior Door Frames, Trim Base, and Cornice Trim: Clear Alow Douglas Fir. (j) Millwork cabinets, counters, laminated plastic assemblies, and millwork hardware are to be as detailed on drawings. All cabinetry and accessories as shown and detailed on the drawings, shall be included in the work. General Contractor shall be responsible for coordination of electrical and mechanical requirements of kitchen or plumbing fixtures to be installed within or adjacent to cabinets. (7) MOISTURE PROTECTION (a) Furnish all labor, material, services, equipment required to complete all shingle, roofing, flashing, and caulking required for the proper execution of the work. (b) Shingles. Johns-Manville, 20 year shingles to match existing shingles on main house. Also see Additive Alternate #1. (c) Flashing and Roof Sheet Metal Work: Provide all labor and materials required for flashing and roof sheet metal work indicated on the drawings and specified herein. (d) Materials: To conform with recognized commercial standards for basic materials. -6- (1) Galvanized Sheet Metal: ASTM A93, Class 1.25 paintlok, zinc—grip or equal where exposed to be painted. (2) Screws and Bolts: Galvanized, or non-ferrous metal. (3) Mastic: Asbetile by Johns-Manville. (4) Bituminous Paint: ASTM C1187. (5) Solder: Compound 40% lead and'60% tin for use with galvanized sheet. (6) Soldering Flux: Fed Spec. 0—F-506, Type I Form A or B. (7) Install all sheet metal work in accordance with approved S.M.A.C.N.A. Standards. (e) Sealants (exterior) : Dow Corning Corporation #780 one-part silicone rubber sealant. Color as selected by Architect or approved equal. (f) Sealants (interior) : DAP Butyflex, made by DAP Incorporated, or approved equal. (8) DOORS, WINDOWS AND GLAZING (a) Exterior Bathroom Door: Wood Stile and Rail — Comply with ANSI/NWMA, 1.5.1 and Section 1400 of AWI "Architectural Woodwork Quality Standards" Material: Natural Birch, Douglas Fir or similar woods. (b) Exterior Doors at Ocean Side 1. Frame shall be treated Western Pine at head and jambs with all interior surfaces veneered and edge—banded. All exterior surfaces except sill shall be clad with aluminum, coated with baked enamel. Aluminum weatherstrip stop shall be integral with frame. Metal sill shall be solid extruded aluminum with hardwood insert at threshold. Frame Depth shall be 6-=1/211. 2. Door panels shall be 1-7/8" (48 mm) thick with solid wood cores of randomly finger-jointed laminted blocks, cross-banded on both sides. All interior surfaces shall be veneered; all exterior surfaces shall be clad with aluminum coated with baked enamel. Provide optional screen door. 3. Glazing shall be tempered double glass with solar bronze tint. Contractor to submit samples to Owner for selection. -7.: 4. Weatherstripping shall be polypropylene and polyethylene=covered urethane foam at frame head and jambs, with vinyl sweep at bottom rail of door panels. 5. Screen shall consist of extruded aluminum frame with fiberglass cloth, hinged to door frame. (c) Interior Flush Doors: Birch, 1-3/4" H.C. ; Closet Door: Bi-Folding - Fir; full louvered. Provide sample to Owner for approval. (d) Finish Hardware: Allow the sum of Seven Hundred Dollars ($700.00) for the purchase of finish hardware, which will be selected by the Architect. This allowance will include hinges, locksets, door closers, weather stripping and thresholds. (e) Windows: (1) All windows shall be Pella Clad doublehung and fixed sash tow units. (2) Frame and sash shall be treated Western Pine. Jamb liner sash slides shall be high-impact polyvinyl chloride. All exterior surfaces shall be clad with aluminum, coated with baked enamel. Frame depth shall be 6-1/211 and 5"; sash thickness shall be 1 3/4" (44 mm) . (3) Glazing shall be double glazing panels with solar bronze tinted glass. (4) Weatherstripping shall be foam at head, sill, checkrail and sash stiles. (5) Hardware shall include spring—type balances concealed within the frame and self—aligning sash lock and strike. (f) Mirrors: Unframed, fabricated from 1/4" thick polished plate glass of mirror glazing quality conforming to Fed. Spec. DD—G451C, Type 1, Class 1, Quality 03, edges ground and polished; with copper film backing electronically deposited to thickness of .0002" directly over silver surface. Two coats of clear varnish applied over copper coated surface and all edges. A —8r' (9) FINISHES (a) Ceramic Tiles: 4" x 411 x 1/4" ceramic tile units as manufactured by Windurn Tile Manufacturing Company, Florida Tile Industries, Inc., U. S. Ceramic Tile, American Tile Company, or approved equal. Colors and patterns as selected by Architect. Provide tile of quality certified by the Tile Council of America to equal or exceed the Standard Grade Requirements of A 137.1. Install in strict accordance with ANSI A108.6 and Tile Council of America Spec. F143.81. (b) Gypsum Wall Board: Furnish and install all gypsum drywall for interior walls and ceilings called for on Finish Schedule and/or shown on drawings for the proper execution of the work. (1) Drywall shall be 1/2" thick gypsum board specifically manufactured for the purposes. Moisture resistant gypsum board shall be used in baths and shower room and in any other areas where excessive moisture could be encountered. (2) Installation shall be by experienced, skilled craftsmen and in accordance with the highest standards of workmanship for the trade. (3) Carefully examine architectural details prior to starting work. (4) All exposed edges and changes of material shall have metal drywall stop; all external corners shall have metal drywall corner bead. (5) Joints shall be taped and filled; all nail holes and imperfections filled; filling shall be sanded smooth and all walls and ceilings left in perfect condition to receive painting or wall covering by others. (c) Quarry Tile: Includes but not limited to furnishing and installing quarry tile and setting bed. I. Floors and Patio a. Rectangular 4 x 8 x 1/2" 2. Color: a. Grouting: Follow Manufacturer's recommendations for grouting. Thoroughly brush out floor tile joints before grouting. Thoroughly force grout into joints to fill entire depth. Grout color to be selected. (d) Parquet Wood Flooring: (1) The Contractor shall provide a cash allowance of $6.00 per square foot for the purchase of unfinished solid wood parquet flooring. (2) Install parquet flooring over existing and new concrete slab as per manufacturers recommendations. (3) The Owner will select the parquet flooring, kind of wood and pattern of the units. (4) Parquet flooring to be finished with one coat stain and three coats moisture cure MC 100 polyurethane. (e) Carpet: Provide a cash allowance of $25.00 per square yard for purchase and installation of carpet and padding. (f) Painting: Provide all painting and finishing of surfaces as specified herein and as required for completion of finished work. (g) Wallcovering: 1. Provide a cash allowance of $30.00 per roll for wallcovering in master bath. Grill Range Dishwasher Garbage Disposal Microwave with exhaust �11-� low HEATING, VENTILATING AND AIR CONDITIONING PART 1 — GENERAL 1.1 COORDINATION AND RESPONSIBILITY 1.1.1 The General Conditions, Supplementary General Conditions and Special Conditions are hereby made a part of the mechanical section of the specification and are to be consulted for instructions pertaining to this work. 1.1.2 All labor, material, equipment, and service necessary for and reasonably incidental to the proper completion of all work for the plumbing, heating, air conditioning, ventilation and other systems as shown on the drawings and specified herein shall be provided complete in operative condition. 1.1.3 All above—grade interior piping and ductwork shall be concealed in walls, furred spaces or above suspended ceilings in finished spaces. All piping shall be installed parallel to building walls. Materials and equipment shall be installed at a height so as not to obstruct any portion of a window, doorway or passageway. 1.1.4 Where interferences develop in the field, offsets or rerouting of piping and ductwork as required shall be done to clear such interferences. In all cases consult the architectural drawings for exact details before installing. 1.1.5 Notice shall be given to the Architect and the Local Authority in writing before any tests are made and the tests are not to be concluded or the pipes covered until examined by the Local Authority or his authorized deputy and the Architect. 1.2 JOB CONDITIONS 1.2.1 The Mechanical Drawings are diagrammatic and indicate the extent and scope of the work. They shall be followed as closely as actual construction and work of other trades permit.
