REGARDING: Signs permitted for Subway location at 469 Atlantic Boulevard
John, after reviewing the sign regulations, which I have enclosed, the type of flag
you proposed is not allowed within the City of Atlantic Beach.
An awning sign, however, similar to that existing on the west side of the store is
allowed to "wrap" around to the Atlantic Boulevard side of the shop. The Atlantic
Boulevard side is defined as the frontage, and you are allowed one square foot of
sign area for each foot of the linear frontage of the unit. In other words, the total
area taken up by the word "SUBWAY" on both sides cannot exceed one square foot
for each foot of storefront on the Atlantic Boulevard side. Please feel free to call me
