Meeting Minutes DRAFT
Tuesday, June 22, 2010
Adele Grage Community Center
7:00 p.m.
Present: Lori Gaglione (chair), Cris Garrard, Jolyn Johnson, Ingrid McCawley, Jeff f'Wight and Liaison
Timmy Johnson. Absent: Meade Coplan, Lynne Roskein, and Karen Kempf.
1. Call to order - The chair called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
2. Approval of Meeting Minutes - The committee reviewed the April 27, 2010 minutes. Jolyn
moved that the minutes be accepted as written and Ingrid seconded the motion. The
committee unanimously approved the meeting minutes.
3. Ongoing Business
a. Events, Updates, Reports
i. Songwriters' Concert & Acoustic Night - Timmy reported that the last
Songwriter's Concert was a full house with 65 people and 14 musicians.
Acoustic Night is upcoming this month.
ii. Lagniappe Nights! - Jeff reported that there were approximately 35 people
at the June Lagniappe. Half are presenters but getting return people and
new people each time. The program has been getting better each time.
iii. Mid -Week Market- Jeff said the first hour of the Market was great and then
the rain came. The six vendors stayed and were happy with the turnout.
We have two musicians at each market but are not including crafts at this
time. Will work out conflict with Sons of Italy.
iv. Art Walk host for summer - Timmy requested volunteers to host the Art
Walk and reception in future months. Email Karen with names.
4. New Business
a. Two new members for CARAC will be coming on board in August. We will invite
them to the meeting in July to meet current members. For equal geographic
distribution, help the city recruit members from the Mayport corridor. Please have
applications to be submitted before August 5 Board Review Committee meeting. If
a committee member is not attending a meeting, be sure to let Timmy know so that
you will be 'excused' instead of 'absent'
b. Since Teen Council is not currently meeting, the commission will be recruiting
another advisor. If Teen Council is reconstituted, it could focus teens on art and
govetnnment.
S. Other Agenda Items /Announcements
a. Budget dates - First budget meeting is August 2nd. Tim will email committee
members the date set for CARAC budget review. Laurie asked to meet with Tim
before the meeting.
b. Next meeting will be Tuesday, July 27, at 7 p.m.
6. Adjournment - Ingrid moved that the meeting be adjourned, Jeff seconded the motion,
and the meeting was adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
