Franke Construction: The PVC frames were assembled using mitered and welded comer
construction. A rigid PVC drip cap was thennally spot-welded to the exterior of the head.
Sash Construction: The PVC sash were assembled using mitered and welded comer
cons ction.
Mulflon Construction: The PVC H-mullion was fastened through the mating window
jambs with ten #8 x 1-1/4" long screws, five per side, evenly spaced. The H-mullion was
sealeii at the interior and exterior perimeter with a silicone caulking.

Rein *orcement: The mullion was reinforced with an 'T' shaped, extruded aluminum
mern er measuring 2.839" x 0.625" x 0.125" (reference drawing #16990). The
framemullion intersection at the unexposed side of the head and sill was reinforced, for
shipping/handling, with a steel plate measuring 7/8" wide x 17-3/4" long x 0.060" thick.
The plates were fastened to the window frames using four#8 x 1/2" long.screws per plate.
Inst lation: The window was installed into a 2" x 10" wood buck constructed from
Spiude-Pine-Fir #2 construction grade lumber and secured through the nail fin with 1-1/4"
drywall screws spaced approximately 4-1/2" o.c. and sealed with silicone caulking. The
vertical H-mullion contained two slotted I" x 2" x 0.060" steel angles at each end, fixed to
the a uminum reinforcement with two 1/4" diameter steel pop rivets. One 2-1/8" x 6" x 060"
steel base plate was fastened to the buck at each end of the vertical mullion using four #8
x 1-3/4" long screws per plate. Each base plate contained two tabs that interlocked with the
slotted steel angles at each end of the mullion.
