Background: On September 15, 2010, a bid opening was held for Beach
Cleaning in Atlantic Beach for a 12 -month period. Only
one company, Beachcombers North, Inc., submitted a bid.
Their price was the same amount as the previous contract.
Beachcombers has provided the City with Beach Cleaning
Services since the 1990's. They have demonstrated
excellent professionalism and knowledge in the area of
beach maintenance and care. As revised in the 2009
contract extension, cleaning will take place four days per
week throughout the year.
Budget: $33,000 is budgeted in account 001- 6020 -572 -3400
(Park Maintenance -Other Contractual Services).
Recommendation: Award Beach Cleaning Contract to Beachcombers, Inc. in
the amount of $32,916.00 for one year, from October 1,
2010 through September 30, 2011.
