PROCESSING OF YOUR POOL PLANS & CONTRACT Pool.- plans -and contract-should.have. been_ reviewed._.. If there _are _.any discrepancies or questions please contact your Sales Representative immediately. Pool plans, ARB information, if applicable, and permit application are submitted. The time required varies depending upon county and work Toad of the said county department. After the proper permits and ARB's have been applied for and obtained, our construction department will schedule for layout and excavation. CONSTRUCTION PHASES AND PROCEDURES Once your pool is under construction, if you need information on the construction process of your pool or you have any problems or concerns, please call our construction number 641 -5265 ext. 103. Ask to speak to Deborah Pate. She can best answer your questions. Construction Office Hours: 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday thru Friday. Note: Construction Office is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Lay Out and Excavation At time of lay out, our construction department will stake out your pool to the specifications indicated on the plans that you approved. This will show the pool's size, shape and location on your property, as indicated per your working drawings. LAYOUT APPROVAL FORM MUST BE SIGNED. This form will be located in the plastic bag along with your approved plans for the county inspector. Please return the form to the permit package after you have signed. It is imperative that the permit pack remain in place and accessible for county, & city inspections. The staked out area must not be disturbed, as the stakes are set at a certain grade exactly right for your swimming pool. If by chance you are not satisfied with the location of the pool after it has been laid out and formed, as per your approved working drawings, and it becomes necessary to move it, there will be an additional charge. A CHANGE ORDER MUST BE SIGNED. Please contact the construction department immediately if any changes are to be made. NOTE: If at this time you have not made your Tile, Deck Color and Interior Finish selection, it will be necessary for you do so by the next weekend. Excavation After you have signed the layout approval form, excavation will be done within the designated layout area.. The excess dirt will be loaded and moved away by trucks if so designated in your corm Under normal soil conditions, this takes approximately one day PLEASE DO NOT ask extra dirt to be left on your property ,unless you are sure you can use the extra dirt. In the event you should change your mind after the excavators are gone, there will be a charge for the trucks and equipment to return for the dirt removal. At this time your excavation paymer t is due. Certain areas of Florida . d South Georgia have a very high , ,eater table. if by chance, your soil has this type of condition, you may notice that a pump wiii be hooked up on your pool and will run continuous through the first two stages of construction. This is a necessary operation and we ask that the pump not be shut off or power disconnected. Should the pump stop for some reason, please contact our office as soon as possible. The drains are also set in place. This operation varies in time depending on the size, shape, and soil conditions. Your pool is now ready to receive the shotcrete, after inspection from a county inspector. SHOTCRETE The shell of your pool is pneumatically applied with an especially designed concrete mix. This process is usually completed in one day. Precautions will be taken to protect the surrounding area of shrubs, trees, etc. as much as possible. Do not be concerned with the amount of water that will collect in the bottom of your pool. Our men will pump it out later. At this time your shell payment is due. It is now okay for your pump to be shut off. STRIP AND BACKFILL The forms will be stripped and dirt will be placed against your pool shell, and roughly graded around your pool as needed. TILE AND FILTER EQUIPMENT Your pool shell is now ready for installation of tile, plumbing and setting of the filtration equipment. At this time, your equipment payment is due. ELECTRICAL Our electrician will contact you to set up an appointment to come out and complete the electrical hook -up of your equipment to your service panel. If there are any problems with the lack of service in your panel box, it will be necessary for you to correct any problems that would prevent the completion of your electrical hook -up. At this time any inspections, if required, would be requested. If you have any problems or concems, please contact our construction department. GAS LINE HOOK UP At this time please contact your gas company to install any lines or tank that would be required for the hook up of your gas heater. DECK ACRYLIC DECK: The forming crew places forms for concrete according to your approved plans. If you have had thoughts of enlarging the deck area, please inform the construction department prior to the layout. Any changes or additions will require a change order, which must be signed and paid for (if applicable) prior to pouring the deck. Please help to insure that the staked out area is not disturbed, as the stakes are set at a certain grade exactly right for your deck. Certain counties require a deck inspection and termite spray before we can pour your deck. If a termite spray is required, it would not be covered by Florida Bonded Pools and will require you to secure the company to use. It is best to have the termite spray at 8 am the moming of the inspection. The termite company needs to leave a certificate of spray in the permit pack. You may contact the construction office and speak with Deborah for assistance in this. Concrete is poured and the Acrylic texture process should start within 3 days. Please stay off the deck once this process has started. Also please divert any sprinklers that might hit the deck area. The Acrylic process needs the deck to be kept dry. Note: Tracking dirt on fresh Acrylic could result in permanent stains. Please Keep PETS OFF for as long as possible. PAVERS: If you are receiving Pavers, it is extremely important that we have your color RAIN FORECAST IMPORTANT..... Due to the weather co nditio ns in the North Florida - South Georgia area, we give great consideration to your pool, which could be greatly affected by rain. Therefore, we may have to postpone work due to threat of rain (Rain Forecast). Please be patient with us and the weather! Fences & Screen Enclosures At this time, if applicable, we will install your screen enclosure. If you are not receiving a screen, your property fence needs to be installed to meet the state code for your final safety inspection. If you are installing a Baby Barrier fence, this will be scheduled after the completion of your screen. All counties require a safety inspection before we can do the interior finish on your pool. It will require someone 18 years or older to be home. The construction department will call to schedule the day for the inspection. St. John's, Clay and Nassau county also require another final inspection, which should not require anyone to be home. This inspection will be done after the start up of your pool. INTERIOR FINISH After your shell is properly prepared your interior finish will be scheduled. At this time, your last scheduled payment is due. The water will be immediately started when the interior is completed.The amount of time to fill your pool varies due to size and water pressure. Once we have started the water filling of your pool, DO NOT TURN IT OFF until the water level is approximately halfway up to the 6 X 6 tile. After the pool is full, please call the construction office and someone will be sent to start your pool and add the initial chemicals. Most often, the pool will be started the day after you call, if it is during the normal work week. The start up crew will bring your maintenance equipment and ask that you leave the pump running and brush the pool every day. Brushing will help expose the aggregates in your pool finish. Your pool finish will appear very white and unlike the color choice made. This is normal as the interior of the pool is attempting to grow crystals (a scale, plaster dust) on the surface within the first 24 - hour period, up to the first year. Brushing will control it and expose the aggregate color. Every effort has been made by the plaster crew to provide you with the finest interior pool finish possible. However, there are certain characteristics of pool plaster of which you should be aware. The plaster finish is not perfect or flawless. The finish is as flawless as hand trowling will permit. Your pool is plastered with man made and raw mined materials therefore d is not unusual to have inconsistencies in the pool finish. The plaster is a material made with cement and marble aggregate some discoloration or mottling is expected. There is no reason for concern, these inconsistencies are normal and wilt not affect the physical durability of the plaster. START - UP AND INSTRUCTION Start -up chemicals will be put into your water. We will set up a time to give you instructions, warranty certificates and a user manual on the operation of your new pool. If you have a salt generator, the salt will be put in your pool 30 days from the interior finish date. If you have any questir*s or concerns please contact the construction department.
