Approval of the minutes of the BMRC meeting of April 9, 2009.
Motion: Approve minutes of the Board Member Review Committee meeting of April 9, 2009.
Moved by Fisher, seconded by Smith
Motion carried unanimously
Discuss and review applicants for the Code Enforcement Board listed below and make a recommendation.
Applicants to be interviewed for the Code Enforcement Board
A. Veda Bernstein – current alternate
B. Jonathan Daugherty
C. Maria Mark
D. Nicholas Dodaro
Mayor Pro Tem Borno advised there is one current vacancy to address on the Code Enforcement Board which was vacated by Mamie Hurd and should the alternate member be appointed to that
vacancy, the Committee would then appoint another applicant to fill the alternate’s vacancy . He explained that all applicants listed above are to be interviewed for the vacancy. The
Committee discussed whether it was necessary to re-interview Jonathan Daugherty since they had recently interviewed him for another vacancy. It was decided that Mayor Pro Tem Borno
would call him with questions they still had rather than bring him back in for an interview.
The Committee interviewed the applicants. The purpose of the interview and an overview of the duties and responsibilities of the Code Enforcement Board were explained. Each applicant
explained his/her personal accomplishments, goals and interests in the community. The Committee offered the applicants the opportunity to ask questions and the Committee responded to
those questions.
After the interviews were completed, the Committee discussed each candidate and made the following recommendations to fill the vacancies.
Motion: Recommend appointing Veda Bernstein to serve on the Code Enforcement Board to fill the vacancy of Mamie Hurd.
Moved by Hanson, seconded by Fisher
Motion carried unanimously
The Committee decided they would recommend two names by ranking order to the Commission for consideration even though there is only one vacancy for the Alternate position.
