Motion carried unanimously
Interview new applicants for the vacancy for one alternate on the Code Enforcement Board.
New Applicants:
Ellen Glasser
Maria Mark
The committee interviewed two new applicants for a vacancy as an alternate on the Code Enforcement Board. They included Ellen Glasser and Maria Mark. The functions of the Code Enforcement
Board were explained, as were the responsibilities of board members. Each candidate provided a summary of their background and why they were interested in serving on the Atlantic Beach
Code Enforcement Board.
After the two applicants were interviewed and left, the Board considered all of the applicants that had been interviewed for the Code Enforcement Board. These included not only the
two interviewed on October 11th but also Veda Bernstein and Curtis Sanders who were both interviewed on 8/17/06 and Ed Raube who was interviewed on several occasions. Some questions
were raised about whether or not anyone had checked with Ms. Bernstein to see if she was still interested in serving on the Code Enforcement Board.
Motion: Recommend appointing Veda Bernstein as the alternate member on the Code Enforcement Board provided that someone checks with her to see if she is still interested in serving.
Motioned by Quinif, seconded by Fisher
Motion carried unanimously
The Committee also discussed the possibility that Ms. Bernstein is no longer interested or available to serve.
Motion: If Ms. Bernstein is no longer interested or available to serve, recommend appointing Ellen Glasser as the alternate member to the Code Enforcement Board.
Motioned by Russell, seconded by Fisher
Motion carried unanimously
4. Discuss next meeting agenda and date
Mr. Hanson reported he does not anticipate a meeting in November because of Commissioner Waters being out of office and awaiting the new commission to appoint someone else.
There being no further business to conduct, the meeting was adjourned at 6:03 pm.
