A taproot is a root that goes straight do-vmi to the water table and that is uNfiat keeps the strength of the tree strong and prevents it front falling over. Off the taproot there are smaller feeder roots that groat-out of the main root and spread out under the ground. These :ceder roots also live off the taproot. Feeder roots are for bringing up nutr.ents to the tree and have little affect on stabilization.
