STAFF REPORT
AGENDA ITEM: Local 630 Blue Collar union contract for the period October 1,
2010 through September 30, 2011.

BACKGROUND: The City and Local 630 Blue Collar union have agreed to the
provisions of a new contract to be effective upon approval by the
City Commission. Based upon budget constraints, the only item
negotiated and approved by the Union members were changes to
Article 26.1 as follows:
26.1 (a) Effective October 1, 2009 2010 the salary ranges
within Exhibit A have been retained at the October 1, 2008/2009
rates.
Employees that have more than one year of service as of
09/30/10, are in a position that is considered "year round" and
have received an evaluation of "Meets Requirements" or above
shall receive a one -point -one percent (1.1 %) lump sum
"appreciation" bonus to be paid on the first pay period in
December 2010. Said bonus shall not count toward pension
final average salary calculation or have employee pension
contributions deducted. Bonus shall be based upon the
employee's annual base pay as determined on 09/30/10.
BUDGET: Funds for these changes are included within the current budget.
OTHER: A copy of the complete Union contract is available within the City
Clerk's office for review.
RECOMMENDATION: That the City Commission approve the Local 630 Blue Collar
union contract for the period October 1, 2010 through September
30, 2011.
