Minutes of March 4 , 1995
The Board held its regular meeting on Monday, March 4 , in the
City Commission Chambers. Present were :

The meeting was called to order at 7 : 35 PM by Hope Van Nort-
wick, Chairman, after verifying that a quorum was present.
The first item of business was cop5AA-e��n of the tree re-
moval application for property af-Lot -* 18 , iffany by the
Sea. Pat McCray, builder and repF-e' 'ntative of the owner,
was present to discuss the plans with the Board . Hope Van
Nortwick explained that this was the first application to
be considered under the recently enacted revised Ordinance .
It was agreed that the lot was of an odd shape , bordering on
a cul-de-sac, making it difficult to correctly determine the
protected zones. It was calculated that two 25" DBH oak trees
were proposed for removal from the interior zone , or a total
of 50" DBH. The Board and Mr. McCray, after studying the
plans and recalculating the number and sizes of the trees to
remain on the lot as credit for those being removed, agreed
that under the new ordinance, there was no further mitigation
requirement by the property owner
It was stressed to the applicant that since the remaining
trees were to be counted as credit for mitigation purposes,
they were protected trees and could not be removed. Mr.
McCray marked these trees on the survey so that the removal
permit would be issued to reflect that they could not be re-
moved and must be properly protected during construction as
required by the ordinance .
Mae Jones moved to accept the plans, as presented, with the
understanding that those trees designated as mitigation for
replacement trees be preserved. Judy Jacobson seconded and
the motion unanimously passed.

debris from your project on adjacent properties.
By this letter you are required to clean this property within twenty-four (24) hours
as of 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 1996, and to maintain the property in a clean
state until completion of this project.
If this property is not cleaned and debris kept off of adjacent properties by the
6:00 p.m., November 13, 1996 deadline, a "Stop Work" order will be placed on the
job, a City crew will clean the property, and you will be billed for the cleanup plus 100%
for administrative cost. The job will be stopped until the cleanup cost is paid in full.

Re:-Wind Loading Requirements For The New Residence Located
on #J'Y 'T'i W2�W� '71(, -5 e4 # Atlantic Beach, Fl.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:-
The architectural plans of the subject residence have been
reviewed by myself for compliance with section 1606 of the
1994-SBC for wind speeds of 110 mph and concluded that the
residence structure will satisfy the wind loading
requirements of section 1205 of the 1994-SBC as long as
sheets thru #_5 �,.of the architectural drawings are
satisfied.
It shall be noted that the following criteria were assumed
throughout the my review and analysis:-
a) that the lateral diaphragm of roof and floor
sheathing/trusses system is of the flexible type,, b) that
the shear walls segments will interact in unis-on due to
their attachment to the above mentioned lateral t 7 diaphragm,
c) that the entire roof uplift forces will be transferred to
the footings through the use of metal strapping ;thus, the
uplift resistance of the designated shear walls sheathing
will be neglected, d) that the shear wall segments will
distribute the designated shear forces based upon their
rigidities, 9) that I have no knowledge of any subsurface
soil condition report; thus, all footings are designed as
shallow footings bearing on soil that possesses a maximum
allowable bearing pressure of 2000 psf. If contractor found
any differing conditions either through soil report or soil
removal then I shall be notified and possible footing
design revisions may have to be implemented prior to
commencing work, f) that the ceiling sheathing will provide
adequate lateral resistance and will relieve the ceiling
joists of any shear forces acting normal to their
longitudinal axis.
A copy of the calculations is attached to this letter for
the record. Please let me know, if further help is needed.
