10-06-59 v MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY COMMISSION HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6TH, 1959 AT 8 P.M. Present: Wm. S . Howell Preben Johansen Chas. R. Moore Hugh Roberts, Commissioners and Frank Thompson, City Attorney J.F. Waggoner, Jr. , City Manager Adele S. Grage, City Clerk The meeting was called to order by the Mayor-Commissioner, Mr. Howell. Resolutitbn #59-19 was presented in writing said Resolution approving the transfer of $2,000.00 from the Water Revenue Account to the Water System Renewal and Replacement Fund Account #3201 thus increasing this account from $5, 000.00 to $7 , 000.00 in the 1959 Budget. Mr. Moore mooed that this Resolution 59- 19 be adopted, seconded by Mr. Johansen and carried. Copy of said Resolution #59-19 is attached to these minutes and made a part thereof. A copy of letter written by Mr. George Bull to the Texas Com- pany protesting the elevation of the building being built on Lots 2, 4,6. Block 1 was read and filed. The Commission next went into session as a Canvassing Board to receive the report of the Election Officials covering the 1959 Primary Election. Copies of the Certificate of Result of the Primary Election of October 6th, 1959 were presented to the Commission by the Mayor and City Clerk. Resolution #59-18 was presented by Mr. Roberts who moved its adoptiln. Said m2tion was seconded by Mr. Johansen and having been duly considered the Mayor put the question thereon and the motion was unanimously carried. Whereupon the Mayor declared said Resolution duly adopted and the following officials elected: Seat #1 - Wm. S. Howell Seat #2 - Preben Johansen Seat #3 - J.B. Claiborne Seat #4 - Charles R. Moore Seat #5 - W. Laney Whitehurst Copy of Resolution # 59-18 is attached to these minutes and made a part thereof. Minutes of 10-6-59, Page #2 Mr. J. B. Claiborne was present at this meeting. The City Attorney advised that on the Re-Zoning Ordinance which was passed on first Reading on September 28th, 1959. We would have to publish a legal notice in paper - therefore the date for Public Hearing on said Ordinance was changed to November 9th, 1959 on motion of Mr. Moore, seconded by Mr. Roberts and carried.
