MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY
COMMISSION HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON TUESDAY, APRIL 22ND,. 1958
AT 8 P.M.

The City Commission met in Special Session . pursuant to law
and the rales of said Commission. The meeting was called to
order by the M:.yor-Commissioner, Mr. Howell.
The matter for which the meeting was called was presented by the
Mayor. That part of Beach Ave lying between Club Manor and 7th St.
being a pars of Hotel Reservation as recorded in D BK 96511?
( Ex. Pt. Recd D BK 1642-501 & Pt. Recd. P BK 25-62) Atlantic
Beach ( P BK 5-69) was in 1954 dedicated ( but not recorded)
by Mr. Gerry Adams to the Town as a public street and it was
in that same year improved and paved. In the meantime the
County has retained it on their Tax Roll and has issued Tax
certificates for the years 1955 and 1956 on same. It will
cost $86.79 to redeem these certificates. If the Commission
desires Mr. Thompson has requested a Resolution to the County
Commission to cancel the tax assessment against this property
for the year 1957 and make a check payable to Leonard W. Thomas,
Clerk of the Circuit Court for the $86.79 and he will present
to the County Commission at its meeting next Monday. There was
a discussion in which it was agreed that the apparent best way
to take care of this matter is as suggested by Mr. Thompson, City
Attorney. Therefore upon motion of Mr. Marvin, seconded by Mr.
Johansen Resplution # 58-14 as presented and read, was adopted
by unanimous vote. Copy of said Resolution #58-1.4 is attached
'hereto and made a part hereof.
Upon motion of Mr. Johansen, seconded by Mr. Marvin approval
was given for the Treasurer to issue chock in payment of the
certificates for taxes for the year 1955 and 1956 on the above,
mentioned property in amount of $86.79 payable to Leonard W.
Thomas, Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Upon motion of Mr. Moore the meeting adjourned at 8,25 P.M.

WHEREAS , the land situate in the City of Atlantic
Beach, Duval County, Florida, and described upon tax assessment
roil of said County for the year 1957 as:
Pt. Hotel Reservation Recd D Bk 965-117
(Ex pt •`decd D Bk 1642-501 & Pt Recd P Bk 25-62)
Atlantic Beach ( P Bk 5-69) ,
was in the year 1954 by the then owner , E. Geerry Adams ,
dedicated ( but not by recorded instrument) to the said City
as a public street and a part of the street in said City known
as Beach Avenue , and was in said year 1954 itaproved and paved ,
and at all times thereafter has been used as a public street
of said City , and the legal title thereto is vested in said
City for use as a public street ;
NOW THEREFORE , be it resolved by the City Commission
of the City of Atlantic Beach that the Board of County Com-
missioners of Duval County be and said Board is hereby requested
to cancel the tax assessment made upon the assessment roll of
said County for the year 1957 against said land .
