08-20-57 v r, MINUTES OF TEE AD TOURNED MEETING OF Ta ATLANTL; BEACH TOWN COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 20th, 1957 AT 8 P.M. Present: Norman Minchew Marvin Carr Wm0 S. Howell Robt. L. Wardrep, Councilmen and JaA. Reid, Mayor Frank Thompson. Town Attorney J.F<: Waggoner,, Jr ., ¢ Town Manager Adele S, Grage, Town Clerk The meeting was called to order by the President, M: . Minchew, Bids were received covering the proposed emergency sewerage facil- ities for the business area in vicinity of Atlantic and Ocean Boulevards and were tabulated as follows J„WA Meadows and Company $39,093,10 Marion N. Crotty. Inco 39,788o1O Joe lleinertson of Jacksonville, Inc. 35,489.19 The bids were discussed and upon motion of Mr. Carr;; seconded by M.r0 Wardrep were referred to the Town Manager and Engineer Walter Jo Parks for study and recommendation, Mr. Howell reported that he hae requested a meeting with the come mdttee from Neptune Beach Council to discuss the sewerage contract for service to the places presently served. No date has been set. Mr© Waggoner advised that one of the Real Estate brokers had asked if the Town would be iiter°ested in selling a part of the 10th St° street-end, leaving enough right-of-way for a walkway to the beach. They have a client who is interested in buying the lot adjoining the street-end on the north, he is a doctor and would like to have his office in his residence . There was a discussion in which it was brought out that the Town is not interested in selling any street- end, and upon motion of Mr, Howell, seconded by Mr. Carr ft was deter- mined that the Town not sell any of 10th St, The matter of Hospitalization was discussed at length, as well as insurance and retirement for employeesQ The committee is going to get further figures from the companies interested on retirement and insurance° Upon motion of Mr. Wardrep the meeting adjourned from day to day.
