COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 1957

The meeting was called to order by the President Mr G Minchew.
The Council went into session as a Canvassing Board to receive
the report from the Election Officials covering the 195 :11.-
wary Election.
Resolution No. 57--1.2 was presented by Mr. Carr who moved Its
adoption. Said motion was seconded by Mr. Weiss anu being duly
considered the President put the question thereon. and the motion
was unanimously carried. Whereupon the President declared said

Seat #1 - Wm o S. Howell
Seat #2 - Preben Johansen
Seat #3 Hugh Roberts
Seat - to be run off at General Election on
October 15th. Candidates:a Charles R,.

Seat #5 Marion Marvin
Copy of Resolution # 57-12 is attached to these minutes and
made a part thereof,
Upon motion of Mr. . owell seconded by Mr. Weiss the Town Clerk
was directed to secure three election officials for the General
Election of. October, 15th, one clerk and two inspectors, end
to have paper ballots printed and use the ballot box at the
General. Elections also return voting machines with appreciation.
to the County for their use, and pay the election officials
for the Primary Election $15.00 each.,, and. the County man 4 5 OO( ppro)
for his services in setting up the machines and printing forms°

WHEREAS , the Inspectors and the Clerk of the Primary Election
held in Atlantic Beach, Florida on October 1, 1957 for the
purpose of electing a Mayor Commissioner and four Commissioners
canvassed the votes cast and did make the returns on the same
in words as follows:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That it is hereby unanimously voted
that said returns be accepted as reported,
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED and it is hereby found and determined
by the Town Council of Atlantic Beach, Florida, acting in the
capacity of a Canvassing Board, that a majority of the qualified
voters, who participated in said Primary Election cast their
votes in favor of the above candidates as follows:
SEAT #1, MAYOR COMMISSIONER: Wm. : . Howell 346
SEAT #2, CONMISSIONER: Preben Johansen 36$
SEAT #3 , COMMMISSIONER: Hugh Roberts 34$
SEAT #4, CON11vIISSIONER: To be run off at General Election

and it is further found and determined that the above named
candidates are duly elected to serve for the next two years.
The run-off for Seat #4 will be at the General Election on
October 15 , 1957.
Above Resolution was adopted by the Town Council on October 1,
1957.
