12-23-57 v MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON MONDAY, DECEM-
BER 23RD, 1957 AT 8 P.M.
Present:
Wm. S. Howell
Marion Marvin
Hugh Roberts, Commissioners
and
Frank Thompson, City Attorney
J.F. Waggoner, Jr. , City Manager
Adele B. Grage, City Clerk
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, Mr. Howell, notice
having been given 24 hours previously of the Special Meeting.
Mr. Howell presented in writing an Ordinance regulating the
hours for the sale of alcoholic and intoxicating beverages in
the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, Mr. Marvin moved its
adoption on first reading. Said motion was seconded by Mr*
Roberts and having been duly considered the Mayor put the question
thereon and the vote was:
Aye: Marvin, Roberts, Howell
Absent: Johansen, Moore
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried and said Ordi-
nance adopted on first reading. Said Ordinance permits liquor
places to stay open from 12:01 A.M. to 2 A.M. on New Year's Day,
January 1st, except wheh said New Year's Day falls on Sunday.
The Clerk was directed to post notice that Public Hearing would
be held on said Ordinance on Monday, December 30th, 1957 at 8 P.M.
Mr. Harcourt Bull, advised that work had been completed that day
on the Selva Marina park area in Unit #2. The City Manager advised
that he was app ,c:•;ing same, and turning the deed over to the
Attorney dor recording.
Upon motion of Mr. Marvin the meetin, adjourned to meet on
December 30, 1957 at 8 P.M.
