TOWN COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON TUESDAY, APRIL 14TH,1953

The meeting was called to order by the President Mr. Adams.
Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of March 10th were
read and upon motion of Mr. Minchew, seconded by Mr. Bremer
were approved.
Mr. Adams recognized the visitor present. She was Miss Sarah
Howard from Florida State University, Tallahassee, who is
interning at Fletcher High School this semester.
The Public Works Committee reported that they had studied
the bids on the chlorinator and recommended that the purchase
of the Wallace & Tiernan Co. chlcrihator at $1370.00 F.O.B.
Atlantic Beach be approved. There was a discussion and upon
motion of Mr. Bremer, seconded by Mr. Minchew approval was
given to the purchase of the Wallace & Tiernan chlorinator
as quoted.
Mr. Bremer next presented his resignation as Councilman
due to his having sold his home, and he is no longer a
propert" owner in the Town. He expressed his regrets at having to
resign, and his appreciation of the privilege he had had
of serving with the Council. Upon motion of Mr. Thames, seconded
by Mr. Minchew the resignation of Mr. Bremer due to the conditions
as stated was accepted with regrets. The Council expressed
their unanimous appreciation of the services rendered the
Town by Mr. Bremer, and of the pleasure they had had working
with him.
Mr. Marion Marvin was suggested to fill Mr. Bremer 's unexpired
term, and upon motion of Mr. Minchew, seconded by Mr. Weiss
Mr. Marvin was approved as Councilman, and was sworn in by Town Clerk.
The Treasurer ' s report was presented and upon motion of Mr.
Minchew, seconded by Mr. Thames was approved with the following
balances, as of April 1, 1953:
General Fund $8,709.65
Waterworks Fund 3. 557.72
Seawall Fund 593..84
Cigarette Tax Fund 706.73
Upon motion of Mr. Thames , seconded by Mr. Weiss approval was
given to the payment of $40.00 to the Beach Bank to cover
interest coupons # 39 from Seawall Bonds # 144 and 145, and
the Town Clerk was instructed to destroy these coupons by fire.
Upon motion of Mr. Thames, seconded by Mr. Minchew approval was
given to transfer of funds from the Cigarette Tax Fund to the
Waterworks Fund to cover expenditures as they are made each
month.

The bills were studied and upon motion of Mr. Thames,
seconded by Mr. Weiss the following were approved for
payment:
