02-06-51 v MINUTES OF THE ADJOUNRED MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH TOWN COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH, 1951 AT 8 P.M. Present: D.W. BREMER D.P. MASON R.S. THAMES W.G. KIRBY, COUNCILMEN and J.D. BROTVHIE, Town Manager ADELE S. GRAGE, Town Clerk The meeting was called to order by the Vice-President, Mr. Bremer. Approval of the purchase from the Town of Neptune Beach of 1200 feet of used 6" cast iron pipe with 1551# of plumbers lead was considered. Upon motion of Mr. Themes, seconded by Yr. Kirby approval was given for the purchase of the pipe and lead in amount of $2164.60 (pipe $1800. ani lead $364.60) to be paid from Cigarette Fund. Upon motion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Kirby, the Town Clerk was authorized to transfer $1200. from the General Fund to the Cigarette Fund, to be repaid when monies are available in cigarette fund, and that the Town of Neptune Beach be paid the $2164.60. A letter from Mrs. June Wright relative to having this area declared a Defense Area in order that priorities may he secured for the building of housing units as the need may arise, was considered and discussed. No action was taken until more information can be secured as to what, if anything can be done, as it seemed to be the opinion that such action comes from the President, who makes the decisions as to where these areas shall he. There was a discussion as to requireing contractors to have liability insurance, and the matter wlg discussed. Upon motion of Mr. Mason seconded by Mr. Thames, an Ordinance entitled " An Ordnance Requiring Contractors to Carry Liability Insurance" was passed on 1st reading. Upon motion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Thames it was passed on 2nd reading. Upon motion of Mr. Thames, seconded by Mr. Mason the meeting adjourned to Tuesday night, February 13th, 1951 at 8 P.M., and the regular meeting of February 12th, 1951 will not be held. D.W.
