08-08-50 v MINUTES OF THE NEWLY ELECTED TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON TUESDAY, AUGSUT 8TM, 1950 AT 10:15 P.M. In line with the findings of the Canvassing Board, the following were sworn into office by the Town Clerk: G.L. Rosborough, Mayor and E. Gerry Adams D.W. Bremer W.G. Kirby Q3W-13080 D.P. Mason R.S. Thames, Councilmen The Mayor presided and called for nomination for President of the Council. Upon motion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Kirby, Mr. E. Gerry Adams war elected as President. Upon motion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Kirby, Mr. D.W. Bremer was elected as Vice-President. The meeting was turned over to Mr. Adams. Upon motion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Bremer, Mr. Frank Thompson was aTSpointed as Town Attorney. Mr. Mason expressed our appreciation for the services rendered the Council and the Town by Mr. Thompson. The Mayor recommended the appointment of Mr. A.J.Craig as municipal Judge. Upon mo6ion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Bremer this appoint- ment was approved, as recommended. The Mayor recommended the appointment of Mr. J.L. Russell as Town Marshall. Upon motion of Mr. Thames, seconded by Mr. Mason this ap- pointment was approved, as recommended. Upon motion of Mr. Thames, seconded by Mr. Kirby approval was given for Mr. Geo. Mozo, Jr. as Town Treasurer, and Mr. Richard Hamilton as Tax Assessor. Mr. Thames moved that all Town Employees be retained , this was seconded by Mr. Kirby and carried. There was a discussion as to time for regular meeting, and upon motion of Mr. Bremer, seconded by Mr. Mason the 2nd Monday in each month - was approved for meeting. Grage, Town Clerk The meeting was called to order by Mr. Mason, who called for reading of minutes. Minutes of the regular meeting of July 10th, 1950 were read and approved,upon motion of Mr. Bremer, seconded by Mr. Kirby. Minutes of the adjourned meeting of July 24th, 1950 were read, and upon motion of Mr. Thames, seconded by Mr. Bremer they were approved. A letter was read from the Jacksonville Coach Co. advising that their Beach Supervisor was on vacation and as soon as he returns they will make a survey of the area, at which time they will contact us, and hope that something satisfactory can be worked out with reference to a shuttle bus. A letter was read from Mr. Frank Kastner relative to break in seawall north of his property and its repair. The letter was referred to the Public Works Committee , who with Mr. Brotchie, will investigate and make recommendations. It was brought out that the election officials had been on duty for over 15 hours, and upon motion of Mr. Thames, seconded by Mr. Bremer their fee was approved at $15.00.
