09-30-48 v MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH TOWN
COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th, 1948
AT 7 P.M.
Present :
F.P. Ganzel
D.P. Mason
W.G. Kirby
D.W. Bremer
and
C.R. Frazier, Town Supervisor and Acting Town Clerk.
Mr. Mason made the following motion, which was seconded by Mr.
Kirby and was unanimously adopted: That during the interem
between October 1 , 1948 and the adoption of the 1948-1949 Budget
the President of the Atlantic Beach Town Council and the Town
Clerk be authorized to issue Town Warrants covering salaries and
wages on the same basis as that provided for in the 1947-1948
Budget.
Upon motion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Kirby, the President
and Town Clerk were authorized to renew note for $1000, due at
the Beach Bank October 2 , 1948 for thirty days and the following
Resolution was adopted.
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, DUVAL COUNTY, FLORIDA : That
We , the Town Council of the Town of Atlantic Beach,
Florida, do hereby appoint F.P. Uanzel and Adele S .
Grage , respectively the President of the Town Council
and the Town Clerk of the said Town, our joint attorneys
for us and in our name, and stead, to jointly and in their
official capacities , draw, sign, and endorse promisary note
in amount of $1000 for thirty (30) days for General Fund:
and do waive demand notice of protest of all such notes.
Giving and granting to our said attorneys full power and
authority to do and perform all and every act and thing
whatsoever requisite necessary or proper to b e done in and
about the premises, as fully to all intents and purposes ,
as we , acting in an aggregate official capacity, might or
could do; hereby ratifying and confirming all that our
said attorneys shall lawfully do, or cause to be done by
virtue hereof.
Mr. Mason is to call Mr. Allen and make arrangements for renewal.
The matter of the 1948 tax roll was discussed.
Mr. Ganzel explained in reference tot he matter of contracts and
purchases , and recommended that the Town Supervisor' s purchasing
power be extended to $200.
Upon motion of Mr. Bremer, seconded by Mr. Mason the following
Resolution was adopted:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF ATLANTIC BEACH, DUVA L COUNTY, FLORIDA: That
The purchasing power of the Town Supervisor be placed at
$200.
The pump for the Waterworks was discussed. The installation is
to be considered as soon as further information is obtainable.
JO The purchase of a Fire Truck was considered. Mr. Ganzel stated that
he had been advised by WAA that a CO2 - 12 wheel tank truck could be
purchased at 42000. And that at a cost of approximately $500 it
could be put in good condition.
The meeting adjourned from day to day.
