MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH TOWN
COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON MONDAY, JUNE 30TH, 1947 AT
7:30 P.M.

The i .eeting was called to order pursuant of the following
notice dated June 24, 1947 :

You, and each of you,are hereby informed that there
will be a special meeting of the Town Council at 7:30 P.M.
June 30 , 1947 at the Town Hall to consider the following
Matters :
1. To advise with the Building Inspector in reference
to application for permits to build eleven- two
family residences in Block 5 , and to give smch
direction as may be found necessary.
2. Such matters as may come before Council.
Please take due notice thereof and govern yourselves
accordingly.

Mr. E.H. Bowery presented to Council a replat of his Lots
39,40,41,42 and Unplated Strip , Block $, and upon motion of

Mr. Bull, sefonded by r. Minchew it was approved and the
President of the Council and the Town Clerk were authorized to
sign it.
The matter of the eleven-two family residences to be built by
Mr. Gurtler in Block 5 was next considered. Mr. Guy Botts was
present representing Dr. & Mrs. Frank Harvey who object to con-
struction thereof. Mr. Frank Lipscomb represented Mr. Gurtler.
Both sides were given every opportunity to diwcuss their views
at length. There was considerable discussion from the attorneys ,
and also visvtors who were present .
lir. Fred Williams presented a petition relative to Zoning, and
also suggested that Zoning Ordinance be put into form for distri-
bution.

Following the discussion, it was moved by I,r. Bull, seconded
by hr . Minchew that the matter be referred to Mr. Thpmpson
and that the meeting be adjourned from day to day until
a ruling was received from i:r. Thompson.
