TONN COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON TUESDAY MORNING,
OCTOBER 7th , 1947 at 9: 30 A.M.
A Quorum of the Council being present at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday morn-
ing, October 7th, 1947 , a meeting was called to order by the Pres-
ident, Mr. Travis . Present were Mr. Bull , Mr. Minchew and Mr.
Travis and the following action eras token:
On motion of Mr. Bull , seconded by Mr. Minchow, the following
Resolution was passed :
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ATLANTIC
BEACH, DUVAL COUNTY, FLORIDA, That
All action with reference to the employment of Duval Engineering
and Contracting Company and Mr. Robert Angus, as Engineer , be
rescinded and the Supervisor instructed to discontinue the
services of the Duval Engineering and Contracting Company as of
noon this date" . This resolution was unanimously adopted.
Upon motion of Mr. Minchcw, seconded. by Mr. Bull , the following
Resolution to transfer temporarily special Seawall funds from
the Seawall Account to the General Fund for emergency use upon the
seawall , such. funds to be replaced upon the completion of such
financial arrangement as will hove to be mode in the future:
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND TUN COUNCIL OF THE
TON OF ATLANTIC BEACH , DUV!L COUNTY, FLORIDA:
That , the surplus funds in the Seawall Account , partly
in Certificates for Investi::ent Share Accounts in the
Jacksonville Federal Savings and Loan Association and The
Beach Bank, be transferred to the General Fund for the
seawall emergency, and
THAT , the President or Vice-President of the Town Council
and the Town Clerk be and they are hereby er,ipowered in the
name of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Atlantic
Beach , Duval County, Florida, to do all things to carry out
the purposes of this Resclution.
The Town Supervisor Was directed to secure the services of B. B.
McCormick & Son to work along with the Town crew in the emergency
and upon the Supervisor's request , Mr. Fred Lawrencew s desig-
nated to have charge of tie-backs and Mr. George Bull to have
charge of sand-bagging and other emergency duties.
The meeting adjourned from day to day.
