12-22-47 v MINUTES OF THE ADJOUFNED MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH TOMN
COUNCIL HELD AT THE TO+'SIN HAIL ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 22 , 1947 at
8 P.M.
Present :

N. A. Minchew,
N. D. Merritt ,
Harcourt Bull , Jr. and
Frank Thompson, Town Attorney.
An Ordinance appointing a Board of Appraisers for the pur )ose
of determining the benefits accruing to the public as a whole
and to the abutting property owners on the ocean front by virtue
of work done during the storm was passed on third and 'final read-
ing. All members of the council voted for the passage . Mrs.
June Aright was made chairman of the Board with Mr. C . P. 'Silcox
and Mr. L. A. Roith as Members.
By Resolution unanimously adopted , the council set meeting dates
as the second and fourth Mondays in ouch month.
On motion of Mr. Merritt , seconded by Mr. Minchew, a bill -lub-
mitted by George Bull f' the sale of pipe to the gown, in the
amount of $600.00, wr approved end autherizod to be paid.
The Town Supervisor was authorized to purchase six 'ii'o plugs
if and when they can be found at a good price .
Mr. Merritt reported on his further conferences with members
of the firm of Smith and Gillespie regarding the contract for
engineering services in connection w' th the waterworks. Mr.
Merritt was requeste, to ask Mr. Smith to meet with the Town
Council on January 12th , 1948 .
The Council adjourned until the next regular meeting.
