10-08-46 v MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH
TOWN COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HAIL AT $ P.M. , TUESDAY
ilk OCTOBER 8TH, 1946.
The meeting was called to order by the President with
the following present :
Beale Travis, President
Harcourt Bull, Jr.
W.E. Williams , Jr, Councilmen
and
G.L. Rosborough, Mayor
C .R. Frazier , Town Supervisor
Adele S. Grage , Town Clerk
Upon motion of Mr. Bull, seconded by Dir. Williams
' authorization was given for payment of normal expendi-
tures such as salaries and current expenses, pending new
budget approval.
Mr. Frazier recommended that the Public Works
Committee look into and make recommendations as to
the steps on street ends , as they were all washed away
by the heavy tide during the minor storm. The president
referred the matter to the Public Works Committee with a
request that they report back at the regular meeting on
Monday night , if possible.
Mr. Frazier suggested that something should be started
on the waterworks matter before the regular meeting.
Mr. Register, who was present , was asked to look over
the Russell & Axon report which we have , and give us an
opinion on the value of that part of the waterworks
the Town is to buy. Mr. Adams will be glad to give us a
statement of receipts and cost of maintenance for past
year, Mr. Register said he would like to know how many
services there are, and which ones are metered. Upon
motion of Mr. Bull, seconded by Mr. Williams , iir. Register
was employed to make an appraisal of the Adam's Waterworks
interest outside the Hotel Reservation.
Mr. Frazier suggested that the Mayor write a letter to
Mr. Emory Price relative to getting more funds allocated
hill/ to the Federal Works Agency for engineering fees . The
suggestion was approved, and Mr. Frazier authorized to do.
There was considerable discussion relative to the location
of the place for paying electric bills and making appli-
cations for cut-ins and offs. There have been numerous
complaints as to the present location. Mr. Travis is
going to see Mr. Guy Simmons on this matter.
The meeting adjourned for a conference with Mr. Register
on the Tax Roll.
