ATLANTIC BEACH TOWN COUNCIL HELD LT THE TOWN HALL, TUESDAY,
8 P.M. , FEBRUP„RY 6 , 1945.

Janet A. Cranford, President called the meeting
to order.
The m' mutes of the January 9th, 1945 meeting were
read and upon motion of E.L. Jones , seconded by reale Travis
they- wore approved.
The first matter to be considered was the repairing
of the street ends. Mr. Rosborough renuested that some definite
action be taken so that he might report back to the property
owners in his block. After much discussion, motion was made
by Beale Travis , seconded by Don E. Goodling that all matters
pertaining to the repairs to street-ends be tabled until
further consideration and recommendation could be made by the
Public works Committee.
Mr. Cranford reported that ontthe VYilli iris suit,
a check had been received covering taxes up to 1944, and
Seawall Construction installments to date . The garage con-
demnation suit is still pending.
Upon motion of Beale Travis , seconded by E .L. Jones
the Treasurer' s report was approved pending Treasurer's signa-
ture .
Upon motion of E.L. Chiasson, seconded by Beale
Travis, the following bills were aporbved for payment:

Mr. Pete Jensen appeared before the Council to ask
that they do whatever they could to secure electricity for
that community on the ''Vest side of Mayport Road approximately
oposite the Donner Sub-division. There was no Council action
necessary , but C .F. Frazier , Town Supervisor was asked to
take the mutter up with the proper persons in the Electric
Department in Jacksonville .
Mr. Jensen offered the Town $25 .00 for the little
' house which had been moved from the Incinerator site to
Mr. Frazier 's former land on Mayport Rd. to be used by garba;e
department help. Upon motion of Beale Travis, seconded by
E.L. Chiasson this offer was accepted , and Mr. Jensen gave
the Town Clerk the money.
The next business for discussion was the truck.
E.L. Jones recommended and moved that we have the present
truck repaired to good condition and that the Town Super-
visor be instructed to hove same done under his suocrvision.
This motion was seconded by Beale Travis and carried.
The Police Committee recommended and Beale Travis
made the motion that four now tires be bought for the
Police car and that the four old tires be sold for the
best price obtainable . This was seconded by E.L. Jones
and was carried.
C.F . Frazier, Town Supervisor read his monthly
report which was filed.
Upon motion of Beale Travis , seconded by T .L. Chiasson
the following resolution us unanimously passed:
WHEREAS the Town Council on September 7 , 1943
passed a Resolution to issue on y two retail 11 uor licenses
in the Town of Atlantic Beach, :rne of which is to be for the
Hotel Reservation,
AND 'WHEREAS, the Town Council has received an applica-
tion from Mr'. G.W. Richmond, owner of the Log Cabin Oyster Bar
located west of Mayport Food on Atlantic Boulevard,
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the Log Cabin Oyster Bar
be given .a retail• liquor license ,
AND BE IT FUFTHFR RESOLVED, that the above mentioned
resolution be amended and that any future applications be
received by the Town Council and acted upon according to
its own merits.
Upon motion of E .L. Chiasson, seconded by E.L. Jones
property owners of Government Lots west of Mayport Road may
register their lots to-gethor with the description with the
Tax Collector and upon "aymont of '1.00( one dollar) charge
will be issued a tax certificate to date , and their lots
listed on the Tax Roll.
Mr. C .F. Frazier reported to the Council that Mr.
Guerry Adams is ready to sign over to the County or City
the Hotel Rrservation Road. Mr . Rosoboroughnwill take this
matter before the County Commission and will report results
to the next Council Meeting. The Town Clerk was instructed
to write a letter to Mr. Adams thanking him for his offer
and interest.
Upon motion of L .L . Jones, seconded by F .L. Chiasson
an appropriation of $100.00 was made to the Teen-Town Club.
Mr. Genzel presented to the Council the idea of a
unified playground for the three beaches for this summer
with supervised play for the boys and girls. This mutter
was very favorably received, and G.L. Rosborough and E.L.
Jones were appointed to meet with representatives of the
other beaches andreport to council .
There being no further bus ness, the meeting ad-
journed.
