05-02-44 v MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH TOWN COUNCIL HELD MAY 2nd, 1944 , at 8 P.V. 1T THE TOWN HALL. Present : E. L. Chiasson, Beale Travis and E. L. Jones. The meeting was called to oder by E. L. Chiasson, Presi- dent . The minutes of the regular monthly meeting of April 4th , 1944 were approved. The President submitted a petition signed by property own- ers within 200 feet of Lot 6 , Block 18, now the Property of Mrs . Helen Higgins and Mrs. Mollie G. Lenoir, in which the oronerty own- ers agreed to the ch, age in the present usage of this Property to a non-confOrming usage : that is, the onerition of said house as a guest house . No action was taken ani the matter was passed for fur- ther consideration. A financial re )ort was r-ubmi-i ted by the Town Clerk in the absence of a report from the Treasurer. The Clerk' s report was re- ceived as information. Upon moron of Mr. Travis , seconded by Mr. Jones, the fol- lowing bills were approved and ordered paid : C. C . The Royal Motors, Inc . submitted a bid on a 1942 new Special Deluxe 2 Dr. Plymouth. The price quoted was $1 ,467. 81 with an allowance of $517. 81 on the present police car. Mr. Travis moved that this car be purchased. The motion was seconded by Mr. Jones and unanimously passed. It was stipulated further that the Police Committee handle the matter; make all the necessary arrange- ments, etc . , that the car be purchased on a deferred payment basis , the balance to be paid in nine months and that the Police Committee finance this car throug the - on=l Upon motion of Mr. Jones, seconder' by Mr. Travis , the Clerk was ordered to issue a warrant in the amount of x'10.00 to cover the purchase of cut flowers to be used in decorating the Town Hall on May 28th, at which time the Town Park is to he dedicated and offi- cially named "Richard Bull Memorial Park:' Due to the fact that the meeting had been delayed and because of the lateness of the hour, a recess 14. taken to Friday at 8 P.M.
