BEACH TONN COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HALL AT 8:00 P. M.
IIIP TUESDAY, AUGUST 12th, 1941.

The minutes of the regular monthly meeting of July 8th,
1941 , sere approved as read. The minutes of the special meeting
of July 16 , 1941 were approved rs reed.

Fosborough delivered the report of the Town Treasurer
in the absence of Mr. Cranford, which report was annroved en d
ordered filed.
Upon Motion of 'r. Allen, seconded by Mr. Outler, the
following bills were approver, ,and ordered paid:

The cost of installing the two traffic lights on Atlantic
!boulevard, which Is to be paid by the Town of Nentune , Duval
County and the Town of ttlantic Beach, was submitted in the
form of bills. The one-third share of t :e Town of Atlantic
Beach was approved and ordered paid when definite information
is received that Neptune Beach and Duval County are ready to
make settlement.
'r. Outler moved that the Town Clerk be instructed to
notify Fr. Simon F. iillirms that notice of condemnation sent
to him on June 12, 1941 on the garage on his Lots 5 and 6, Block
20 , has now expired and that unless Mr. 1illiems proceeds within
five days to make the necessary repairs and adjustments that
the Town Supervisor and Town Marshall be authorized to proceed
with the removal of the unsightly building at the expense of the
property owner. This motion was seconded by flr. Allen and all
three members of the Council present voted for its passage.
Upon motion of '-Ir. Outler, seconded by Mr . Allen, Colonel
7. . ,tolbrend was appointed Clerk of the special election to be
S held on 1-_ugust 21, 1941 and Inez Robbins and J. C. Madison as
inspectors.
Mr. Outler made a report in reference to Officer .'ascoe ,
which matter was discussed in a closed meeting and the Town : uner-
visor given certain instructions to be followed until ae»tember
1. t, when Mr. Psscoe ' s term of employment expires.
Ur . Chiasson, Chairman of the Public lorks Commttee ,
reported in reference to the work being done by the Town Super-
visor on the Streets and read the progress report to the
Council. Mr. Chiasson' s action in this connection was
unanimously approved by the Council.
A letter signed by Councilman Harcourt Bull , Jr. ,
dated July 23, 1G41 , in which , r. Bull asked leave for a
reasonable length of time , was discussed and ordered filed
with the understanding that the leave would be granted for a
reasonable length of time or until such a time as matters of
importance warranted a full membership of the Council.
Upon recommendation of the Mayor , the City Supervisor
was directed to have a street light installed directly in
front of the Church on -,sherry Drive.
The Town Attorney made his report on the suits of =-dams
and Oltrogge. Nothing, of an immediate nature warrants 4110
action.
The City Supervisor called attention to the Police car,
that the car has been in use for two years and is no longer
in a condition to economically serve as a police car. Mr.
Cutler, Chairman of the Police Committee, moved that the
City Supervisor and Town Marshal immediately secure bids from
some four or five sources to trade the car in for a new car,
the transaction to be upon a trade-in and cash balance basis.
There .being no further business for consideration, the
meeting was adjourned.
