HELD AT THE TOWN HALL AT 7 :30 P. M. , JANUE,RY 12, 1940.

The meeting was called to order , pursuant to a snecial
notice to all Members of the Council as follows:
NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN
COUNCIL OF THE TO VN OF ATL' NTIC BEACH,
FLORIDA ON JANUARY 12 , 1940.

You, and each of you are hereby notified of , and
respectfully urged to be present at a special meeting of the
Town Council of the Town of Atlantic Beach, Duval County,
Florida, to be held at the Town Hall in said Town at 7:30 P.M.
on January 12 , 1940, for the purpose of:
(a) To study the proposed Zoning Plan and Ordinance as
submitted to the Town Council on January 4, 1940 and to pass
on first and second reading the Ordinance in connection there-
with and to take such other steps as are necessary.
(b) To receive a report of the Appraisal Board on the
recently completed Street Project and to take whatever action
is justifiable at that time with reference to special assess-
ments against abutting property owners on those streets where
paving has been completed.
(c) To receive information from the City Supervisor
relative to the construction of a street to the new School and
to take whatever action is necessary in reference thereto.

Atlantic Beach Town Council .
The purpose of this meeting was largely for study and
discussion of the final report of the Zoning Commission. The
following suggestions for amendments were offered, the Clerk to
make notations thereof for a complete compilation of such suggest-
ed amendments after the Public Hearing on January 22nd:
1. To provide an additional definition of ' street' to
• include the Atlantic Ocean Front.
2. To amend Article III , (K) by striking "when a lot
has a depth exceeding 175 feet and a width of 50 feet or more"
and substituting therefor, "When a lot has a width of 50 feet
or more and extends from Street to Street" .
3. In definition No. 37, strike the words "and after
erection of" . •
4. In Article IV, Section A , ( 9) , strike the words
"at the time of the passage of this Ordinance" in both
instances ; strike the same words in Article IV, Section A
(10) in both instances.
The Ordinance proposed and submitted as a part of the
final report of the Zoning Commission was read in full and
upon motion of Mr. Outler, seconded by Mr. Trout, was passed
on first reading.

final report of the Zoning Commission was read and upon
motion of Mr. Outler, seconded by Mr.- Trout, was passed on
first reading.
There being no further business for consideration, the
meeting was adjourned.
