01-22-40 v MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH
TOWN COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOINN HALL AT 8 P. M.
JANUARY 22, 1940 FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOLDING A PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE FINAL REPORT OF THE ZONING COMMISSION.

The Mayor , Mr. George H. Smith was also present.
By unanimous consent , the reading of the minutes of
the previous meeting was postponed until the Regular Meet-
ing on February 6 , 1940.
Harcourt 61111 , Jr. , Chairman of the Zoning Commission
outlined the work of the Commission and called attention to
a suggested change in reference to set backs on lots divided
by deed since rapist - that the set back on such lots shall
be one-sixth of the depth of the lot as shown by original
plat.
Mrs. Victoria Embry complained in reference to Lot 5 ,
Block 19. It was explained to Mrs. Embry that at the
previous meeting of the Council the Zoning Commission had
recommendea that secondary buildings would be allowed on lots
running from street to street.
Brooke G. White , Jr. , complained in reference to the
extension of r=esidence B. Section to include any part of the
Ocean Boulevard section.
Mayor 0. 0. McCullom of Neptune was very complimentary
of the work done by the Commission and the aims of the Council ,
particularly in reference to the retention of the size of lots
and in not allowing outside stairways. He approved the Zonng
Map as it stands.
Mr. C. P. Wilcox complained in reference to the fact
that his property in Block 33 is now surrounded by lesser
restrictive areas and proposed that the Zoning be so changed
as to put the Ocean side of Block 37 in Residence B Section.
Charles E. Pelote complained by letter in reference to
lots 7 and 8, Block 36, that this area has always been
considered as business property. He requested that these two
lots be placed in Business A Section.
All of the above matters were taken under advisement
until the Executive Meeting to be held January 24, 1940.
There being no further business for consideration , the
meeting was adjourned.
