02-20-40 v MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH TONN
COUNCIL HELD AT THE TONN HALL AT 8 P. M. , FEBRUARY 20,
1940.
Present:
E. L. Chiasson
G. L. Fosborough
Thomas N. Trout.
Mayor George H. Smith was also present .
Prior to the Council session, a round table
discussion was had in reference to various matters pertain-
ing to the Town ' s affairs. A cross section of the town tax
nayers were specifically asked to attend this meeting and
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. P . Pritchard, Mr. end Mrs. Orville Vickers,
Messrs. E. L. Jones , Don Goodling and A. S. Berlach and
others were present. :• ny of the Town' s problems were
thoroughly discussed.
Following, the round table discussion, the Council was
called to order by E. L. Chiasson, President.
The President of the Council was authorized and
directed to extend the note at the Atlantic National Bank giv-
en the Nm. A . Estaver Company for the Police Car after making
payment of interest end reduction to $450. This arrangement
was a )proved by Resolution made by Mr. Trout , seconded by Mr.
Fosborough.
The City Supervisor explained an arrangement by which
the balance of Sherry Drive from Third Street to The Plaza
could be shelled; that the Bull interests had agreed to give
shell , the County to furnish such machinery es is necessary,
to furnish some of the trucks , gasoline and oil , the V. P. A .
to furnish the labor . The Town of Atlantic Beach is called
upon to furnish a truck for hauling men for the project and/
or trucks to assist in hauling shell , the Town to furnish no
more than to gallons of gasoline per day for the duration of
the project. By Unanimous consent , the City Supervisor was
directed to assist and cooperate with the County in the
manner set forth .
